Cain was told that he wasn't in consideration for the A&M job when PoS left. I think he really thought he could get it and use this to his advantage.

Ya'll were saying he's been working behind the scenes for Texas for months though.
Why would he do that if he was really angling to get the A&M job? Something else that doesn't add up.

Bro stop trying to work logic puzzles out with TAMU.
Prior to yesterday there was no way Schloss was leaving.
Once he was leaving it's been obvious since April.
That's just the way they roll try to couch the argument to look as good as possible for TAMU without worrying about those pesky things like truth, facts, or god forbid reality...

Cain probably feels he could have held it together. He might have. I'm glad we didn't hire him as a quick reaction to the situation. We are well and truly screwed for next year but need to make a decent hire here.

Why did they not have a predetermined counter offer discussion with him to the Texas offer.
Any smart man that is told not to ask for a counter offer from Delconte can still sack up and be a man and ask for a different counter offer from Texas A&M.

It's well known in TCU circles that Schloss was a swinger there. Doubt he stopped sucking dick since then.
ETA- A&M and College Station are pretty conservative. I'm sure there is more swinging action in Austin.

Asst coaches care about nothing but their next paycheck. They could either follow the PoS to Austin, or possibly have to brave the job market.

That's what I was getting at. Safest move for them was to just go with the HC. Makes them as much of a dirt bag as HC, but doubt they care.

Dude, you hide these things when a coach is winning. Sumlin was a drunk caught on camera, Gillispie had to have a personal chauffeur while in College Station. The PoS probably missed his swinger buddy - college station is kind of boring for somebody like that
