He actually had a nice turnaround in 2012 but Driskel did his Driskeling thing about 4 times that year against Georgia. Muschamp actually inherited a team with big issues the year before he took over. Never put together a good offense though to help the defense.

Yes.

Muschamp was maybe "born on 2nd base." The 2011 Florida team was not going to win a national title.

Coaches I would consider "born on 3rd base," which I define as inheriting a great program at its peak with veteran players who are talented and developed and are an immediate favorite to compete for a national title or Super Bowl: Larry Coker (Miami), Dennis Erickson (Miami), Barry Switzer (Dallas and Oklahoma), George Seifert (49ers), Jim Caldwell (Colts), Ryan Day (Ohio State), Fred Akers (Texas)

Coaches I would consider "born on 2nd base," which I definite as inheriting a program in great shape but maybe not immediately ready to win a national title or Super Bowl due to the loss of veteran talent: Tom Osborne (Nebraska), Jimmy Johnson (Miami), Frank Solich (Nebraska), Dan Devine (Notre Dame).

If Meyer had gone to the NFL, Notre Dame, Ohio State (or wherever) after the 2008 season and left Muschamp Tebow, Brandon Spikes, and all those guys, I would consider that born on 3rd base. That roster was national title ready. The 2011 roster was not even close.
