Georgia and Texas will be recruiting at an elite level as well. No one expects Saban Era recruiting dominance, but if he can keep Bama around the top 5-6 nationally, top 3-4 in the SEC, annually, it'll be just fine talent wise.

Playing the role of an ostrich won't cut it either. Predictions abounded by Cajuns and ranters galore from the time BAMA made the big move to Coach DeBoer. A quick review of the real-time threads would strongly suggest you are in denial.

Top 5 elite recruiting at the halfway point is a tremendous accomplishment given this staff has had to start at ground zero. Keeping our best talent at home for the most part was also a huge accomplishment. Finally, Coach DeBoer brought in some tremendous transfers along with what Coach Saban started with Jackson and Overton.

And finally, Ostrich man, Coach DeBoer upgraded this coaching staff. We have coordinators as position coaches and we hired head coaches as coordinators. But could they hit the ground running and catch up in the hard-fought SEC recruiting ground? BAMA has the Best of the Best coming to Tuscaloosa this summer. All signs that talent will continue to choose ALABAMA because they are ALABAMA.

Its one thing to excel when you play Our Lady of Grace all-girls school for the blind every year, and its another when you win against an SEC schedule, like Saban did.

Number of SEC Appearances in the 10-year history of the 4 Team CFP:

ALABAMA 8 - They are the SEC.

Georgia 3 - BAMA wannabees.

LSU 1 - Laughable at who they think they are in the SEC.

Coach DeBoer will be happy to remind you barners of the past as well.

Keep telling yourself that, Gump. Your ride is over and it will be glorious watching your fan base sink back to the pre-Saban years.

The world knows it was Saban that carried you all these years. Nothing special about “Alabama” and it will be fun to watch your fans slowly come to this realization…..but suffer in denial.

Before Saban, when Alabama and LSU played in the state of Louisiana, an LSU fan was as likely to see LSU get shut out than they were to see LSU win.

That continued during the Saban years.

Even when you had Saban at LSU, LSU was shut out by Alabama @ Baton Rouge, 31-0. Maybe one of the biggest losses in Saban's entire career, dominated from start to finish.

Alabama shut out LSU in Baton Rouge with Saban as their head coach.

I remember BAMA fans bragging about having 3 or 4 former NFL head coaches on the same staff a few years ago.

He may be happy losing in the Playoffs. Lets see how long Bama keeps him around to do that.

Prior to Saban arriving, Alabama had 43 wins versus 22 losses against LSU. Be careful what you wish for as it might come true.

Transition was flawless. Deboer will have folks hoping he goes to the nfl.

Absolutely flawless. And now he's putting together a Saban-esque recruiting class.

My only fear at this point is that he'll jump to the NFL if he has success here

To me, the biggest question DeBoer will answer this year is how he performs without Inge, Morrell, and Grubb.

This is valid. I've wondered this myself, but it's kind of like questioning whether Lane Kiffin will have a good offense after losing an OC - of course he will, because it's his offense

the only one of those that matters is grubb. and we at least know what grubb is like minus deboer. in 2018 deboer was the fresno state OC. he left to be the indiana OC in 2019 and grubb took over fresno state OC in the 2019 season. when deboer left fresno state dropped off from 26th scoring offense in 2018 to the 77th scoring offense in 2019 with deboer gone and Grubb as OC. Then deboer came back to fresno state and grubb stayed as OC, and they improved to 36th scoring offens ein 2020, and back up to 26th scoring offense in 2021. meanwhile when deboer left to be the OC at indiana he took indiana from 88th scoring offense in 2018 to 42nd his only season there. Its pretty clear that deboer is the offensive genius, not grubb, and teasm have success with deboer minus grubb but so far not with grubb minus deboer

Now do that without Saban

Funny how hard it is for Bama fans to accept that they are now just another SEC program...Back to the Shula years
