Beard’s teams make big jumps in his second year. If we have a good year and win a tourney game or two, he gone

Fortunate to end the cycle with one of the best rosters in America.
Sears, Nelson, Stevenson, and two other players returning.
Five (5) fifth-year seniors and one senior on the roster.
Two freshman McDonald's All-Americans.
One of the country's premier interior defenders (transfer).
Some guy from Auburn.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide
Nate Oats has built a burgeoning powerhouse in Tuscaloosa, with a pair of SEC championships and a Final Four to the program’s name in its last four seasons. This season might be the Tide’s best chance yet to cut down the nets. Mark Sears’s return to school after averaging more than 21 points per game a year ago is massive, as was Grant Nelson’s earlier decision to spend one more year with the Tide. Like any Oats team, this one has tons of shooters around its best players, and unlike last season, the Tide have an elite rim protector to anchor the defense in Clifford Omoruyi (Rutgers Scarlet Knights).

Yes, we will have a very nice roster. We'll see how it all plays out.

I’m glad my school has more than one sport to pay attention to, must suck to only have basketball season for Auburn.

Funnily enough, Oats has never had a team preseason Top 12. His highest ever (13th) finished unranked as well

Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky have pretty much owned the SEC for the past seven seasons… fairly evenly between themselves.
SEC Win% (2018-2024)
69.6%- Kentucky
68.8%- Tennessee
64.3%- Auburn
61.9%- Alabama
———-
55.6%- Florida
53.6%- LSU
52.0%- Arkansas
50.8%- Texas A&M
SEC Regular Season Titles (2018-2024):
2- Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama
1- Kentucky, LSU
SEC Tournament Titles (2018-2024):
2- Auburn, Alabama
1- Kentucky, Tennessee
Will be interesting to see if AU, AL, and TN start to separate a bit from Kentucky, post-Calipari.

They've all been pretty consistent, too - especially post-COVID once Oats really got going. Since the 2021 season
Alabama
- 4 NCAA tournaments
- 2 SEC Championships
- 2 SEC Tournament Championships
Tennessee
- 4 NCAA tournaments
- 1 SEC Championship
- 1 SEC Tournament Championship
Auburn
- 3 NCAA tournaments
- 1 SEC Championship
- 1 SEC Tournament Championship
They've won
- all 4 SEC Championships
- all 4 SEC Tournament Championships
- Been to 11 of 12 possible NCAA Tournaments
Not to mention that since 2019 in the tournament itself
Alabama : 1 Final 4, 2 Sweet 16s
Tennessee : 1 Elite 8, 2 Sweet 16s
Auburn : 1 Final 4
They're unequivocally the top 3 in the league.

As Alabama basketball fans we're so used to things just generally not working out, it'll be interesting to see how a season progresses when we start near the top for a change.
And looking at the above list, it appears that both the OOC schedule and the conference as a whole will be once again brutal.
Should know pretty early where we stand, and how much we need to work on.

Meanwhile, the price of wooden, Bulgarian stomach pumps have gone up %5 in the region of the Dinaric Alps in northen Bulgaria. This is cause for concern among Bulgarians who are subject to frequent food-poisoning from Campylobacter bacteria from infected mountain goats in the area.
Jesus God in Heaven above...will football season EVER get here?!!

The Pornstache and Sears are back.
Wrightsell.
A freshman named Philon.
Aden Holloway transferred there. I guess he thought a change of scenery would help his performance.
