If you did not see any kind of action in the dance then you need to portal out, unless you were hurt or a true freshman.

Hannah Stevens is taking some serious shite from former players for posing the question on social media about parting ways with Murph. His former players who did not portal out are 100% behind him and that includes strong comments from Fouts.

frick all that!
The proof is in front of ALL of us on the field! Hell! Look at the size and athleticism of the elite teams compared to the Tide squad! When you play teams with 5, or more .300 hitters with a team with ONE, what can you expect? FACE IT!!! We are NOT a very strong team.

This girl got blasted last night for simply asking if it was time to expect more out of Murphy. Her point was one national title in 25 years and no other coach that has been at Alabama that long gets a free pass.

The problem is sombrero chick, Hunter Johnson, the softball fans who show up and the former players love Murphy because he’s a nice guy who makes them feel relevant. With all of those listed, it’s downright criminal if you ever suggest Alabama can do better than Murphy.

Alabama SS Kenleigh Cahalan has entered the transfer portal.

An all-region and all-SEC honoree in her two years in Tuscaloosa, Cahalan owns a career .290 batting average, with 9 home runs, 24 doubles, and 65 runs scored.

24 hours from yesterdays loss and she is not trusting the Murph process. Call me surprised. This is just the beginning of a few.

Team 28 was truly something special

It was a dream come true having the opportunity to play at the WCWS with these girls and my big sis. The highs and lows were all worth it and I wouldn't trade these experiences for the world. When everyone counted us out, we chose to believe. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Team 29!! RTR

He's going to ruin her matter of fact he already has.

Pulling Cahalan for a slapper who hasn't hit anything all tournament was crazy!

Even the commentators was like WTF!

I hope Greg Byrne can reach out and talk too her though.

I doubt Greg is a micro manager on this portal thing unless Murph asks him too. Which I doubt he will because that would make him lose face in front of Greg. This could be about a few NIL bucks and she stays.

When the AD has to direct your HC to areas that need work, you have already lost the battle.

Here is the crux of the matter. Murph made it to the CWS and won a game finishing tied for 5th place. Most former players love him. Greg would be the laughing stock of the SB world if he made Murph resign. I dont know who the major boosters are for SB but I would assume they are content. Murph is a great PR guy for the U. He does not embarrass them off the field.

And regardless of what we fans think is best, those are the issues with replacing him. Should he have lost while hosting a regional then the hot seat would have been there. Now we might see internal changes should more starters portal out like our SS just did. You can say all you want about what you as a fan thinks should happen right now but paragraph one is why Greg wont and cant do anything. Plus I think there was an atta boy tweet from Greg already.

There is 0% chance Murphy is being pushed out of his job after leading the team to the WCWS despite struggling most of the season.

There is a decent argument that Giles' injury limited the offense. They did find a good leadoff hitter for Murph's approach this year who was also out with an injury for a chunk of the season. Additionally, they're adding a good power bat from the portal. The glass-half-full view is this season was a rebuild and the offense should be much more solid in 2025.

I don't know if I am buying that argument but I get how people in the AD may see it that way. At the end of the day, Murphy is going to get to decide when it is time to hang it up. He created this program and he will be given the leeway to use his discretion to a certain point. I'd hope he has the prescience of Saban to know when that time has come.
