In 2003 teams played 12 regular season games. In 2003 Alabama was under a postseason Bowl ban and ineligible for postseason play. Alabama found a NCAA loophole at the time which allowed teams to schedule a 13th game to play @ Hawaii.( a game which Alabama happened to lose by the way)
So instead of accepting their postseason ban they schedule a 13th game at Hawaii to end their season...wow... the program sure suffered from that postseason Bowl ban didn't they?

Wow what a melt 20+ years later. Of all the things to be pissed about. But you still never explained how that is gutless. If anything it took some brass cajones to give the NCAA the finger
