And his foot is in fact not on the rubber by a fair margin

Pitchers are required to have contact with the rubber when pitching. Or at least I thought so. Apparently not though.

he clearly is off the rubber. he barely touched it after getting called out and then went right back to not touching it

In postseason, Jay Johnson vs Vitello one is undefeated and the other is winless. The winless one wears orange and has never ended the year a National Champion.

As a general rule a ball that crosses over the batters box line is not a strike. But home plate umpiring has been absolutely atrocious all tournament. No reason it should be better today.

And now he’s calling pitches that are actually on the edge of the plate balls

We supported them in the 90s through early 2000s.

It’s amazing though, you hire a competent AD and build the best athletic department in the nation and the fans support it. From football, basketball (men’s and women’s) softball and baseball the fans show up and support them all.

We are just not swinging at strikes. Not aggressive like we been lately. Give Vols pitching credit. Tennessee with only 4 runs I will take that all day.

Let’s see if UT can break cycle this year and win Omaha after winning the SEC and going in as #1. History isn’t on their side at all.

I’m going to do a little public service help for you because you’re a Vol
Fan and pretty new to this baseball thing. The count should have no impact on whether an umpire calls a pitch a ball or a strike. Now the count (specifically on the batter when they have two strikes) likely does impact whether the batter should swing the bat. Maybe that’s what you were thinking. You’re welcome.

Neither is statistics. Someone has to eventually break the #1 curse

That’s a lot of words about a strike
