How do schools offer multiple ‘scholarship’ offers for 1 actual scholarship?

Say Oklahoma offers 3 2025 kickers ‘the same’ scholarship…when does that get down selected? As it gets close to early signing day the coaches ghost the two that won’t be offered a LOI?

Say OU offers their top 3 prospects and number 3 jumps at it and commits…can they pull that offer if number 1 is interested?

I don’t know why Oklahoma is getting picked on in your scenario.

I also don’t know how anyone doesnt know how this shite works by now.

Yes and yes to your weird fricking questions.

Also it’s blatantly obvious that your son, grandson, nephew, or family friend is a kicking prospect….

Obviously you’ve never followed recruiting before.

They stop lying to the recruit and tell them how it is. They then open their recruitment back up.

It’s a mutual break up. In this case LSU will say we don’t have room for you but we won’t tell ULM that you’re not great. You’ll be more desirable that a big program liked you.

Yea, I’m just confused now that my son’s friends are all getting offers…and many times by the same school.

The term full scholarship offer is thrown around a bunch on X…doesn’t seem to mean what it sounds like.

It seems like a bunch of people on X are fricking liars.
There’s not many kickers per cycle that are actually getting full scholarships.

Usually, they will throw out offers to players, but they can't commit until they have camped there. Then it's first come, first serve. However, they can and will ghost a player if someone higher on their board wants in. It sucks, but hopefully, they will tell them in time to find another school.

What? They are full scholarships. There are no partial scholarships for D1 football players

Well if they’ve offered it to two other kids then technically you are in the running for a scholarship…you’ve been offered the chance to come win it.

Well yeah. Schools are always going to offer more scholarships than they have available because they know not everyone they offer is going to accept. An offer doesn't mean anything until you sign.

His son is an Arkansas commit, weird that he doesn't know how this works.

We shook the head coach’s hand and he guaranteed the offer was committable. I assume the offer disappears if the staff gets fired.

Coaches move around a ton, just gotta work all of the relationships and hope for the best.

The school can change their mind up until the pen hits paper just like your son can.

No kidding...

OU doesn't have any scholarship kickers on the roster...

And it shows.

Just go sign on the dotted line and have a small town newspaper press conference. Simply lock it in if the offer is real.

This isn't rocket surgery.
