They would have already done so if they could. Read up on Title IX.

If they move to a super conference model with players paid as employees it would remove the 85 scholarships and 110 slots that are protected by title IX. You could eliminate a bunch of title IX requirements and drop to just baseball/ softball, basketball for both and cheer/dance and fulfill your obligations.

I’d rather Colorado than Kansas, but don’t want them either. They ain’t Southeat, but they are a joining state with Oklahoma as well.

Oklahoma as well.

Oklahoma is the new Nebraska.

They are going to slide down the slippery slope pretty fast.

Kansas needs to keep their dominance in Basketball because they will never be a football powerhouse. Joining the SEC would be a dumb move on their part.

It is pretty obvious...

They are going from being one of a couple of big fish in a small pond to being one of several big fish in a large pond.

The pre-season rankings show 6 SEC teams ranked ahead of Oklahoma.

I doubt that Oklahoma will see another conference football championship for quite a while.

this is not why Nebraska became Nebraska

They lost their partial qualifiers
They cut off their pipeline to talent in the South
Everyone started using steroids or some version of it..

Nebraska lost all of the advantages they used to have..

Maybe Oklahoma falls off the face of the earth.. maybe Alabama does too.. both are about the same odds.. neither one will ever be Nebraska

Texas was one of the first Southern States to secede. On the first Confederate national flag, one of those seven stars represented Texas.

The population combined is 902k out of 4 million people in KY. And not everybody in Louisville and the Cincy burbs are midwestern in culture. Some live there from other parts of KY.

I’d imagine KU alum are KC and St Louis primarily however basketball gets their big draw. They don’t have spring sports or invest in shite.

Oklahoma State was a top 25 viewership with a big Texas/DFW. Even with OU in the state. More than…Mississippi State and Kentucky and many of your other schools.

You do not see Kansas ranked in any of these sports lately have you? Baseball? Softball? Track? Golf? Nothing. If any school is poached in the Big 12 it’s Okstate. They have the best facilities in the current Big 12 and many SEC schools.
