University rankings are interesting. Do we really need an independent 3rd party to tell us that Vandy is academically superior to Oklahoma and Miss State?

Also, I would value the US news ranking if they made more sense. Here is what I mean. UF is ranked ahead of Texas. However, every department at Texas is ranked ahead of Florida. Business School, Engineering, Computer Science.....every department that both schools have is ranked higher at Texas. Why should we take these rankings seriously?

97% acceptance rate?

Congratulation, we detect that you have a pulse and therefore we invite you to matriculate at the University of Mississippi.

The AR for Ole Miss has always been near 100. They’ll admit anyone if they can pay. Jerrell Powe got in and he couldn’t even read.

Auburn has the best PR department in the entire universe for this number to continue to be quoted.

I know some folks like to hand their hats on this, but I can promise you something:

In MOST fields, if your degree isn't from Vandy, MIT, an Ivy League school, or the like, most places won't give a shite what the name of the university is on your degree.

But this is the internet and furthermore it's tRant. Where winning or losing a women's basketball national championship are sacred
