Saban was on record saying he didn’t want to play LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee every year. Wondering if now that he’s gone if Alabama will still not want a hard schedule and hold up what’s best for the league over it.

Would Alabama be the only school playing 3 “Big 6” opponents every year?
If so, yes, I hope we continue to fight against that.

Alabama was one of the only teams that wanted a 9 game schedule.
Unlike LSU
Unlike LSU

In a 16 team SEC is Auburn really a top tier program?
They aren’t getting rid of LSU-Alabama it’s too valuable for the networks.
And as I understand it yall want to hold on to Tennessee at all costs.
I don’t see what the problem is.

You do know the 9 game schedule talk has been going on for years. Not just this last year.

Will LSU demand that the Big 6 all have relatively equal permanent opponents for the good of the league?

Yes it’s been reported on extensively, the divide was originally between the big schools like LSU and Alabama, who wanted 9 games whereas the smaller schools wanted to stay at 8 because they were worried about staying bowl eligible.
It was trending in the direction of the 9 games winning out when it was revealed to school leaderships who the permanent opponents would be, thats when Alabama changed their vote and Saban publicly explained why.
Now Alabama fans either pretend none of this ever happened or talk about scheduling balance. Both of which are hilarious for various reasons.

I will say what we were told by Alabama fans for years when bringing up the subject of balanced scheduling: stop being pussies.

So I guess the answer is yes.
Will be interesting to see if they are willing to stop playing Auburn or Tennessee every year over this, because that’s the choice they’re going to have.

You mean like Auburn has been doing for the past 30 years in Alabama, LSU and UGA?

Yeah, now I know where the "yellow" in yellow hammer comes from.

Alabama’s been doing it for the past 30 years, too.
The difference would now be that it appears Alabama would be the only team doing it.

Some of you pussy fricks wouldn't be playing 3.

frick what they want.
The reason we never went to a full rotation back when we had 12 teams: 5 divisional opponents and rotating the other division home/away over a 4 year window (thereby playing everyone in the SEC home/away every 4 years) was because both Alabama and Auburn HAD to play Tennessee and Georgia every year because of their rivalry. Now they don’t want that because it would be too tough?
frick them.

Everyone is playing everyone twice every 4 years regardless and Auburn is arguably the 9th biggest school out of 16 in the new SEC. It really should not be that big a deal.
You’re making excuses and badly at that.
