Hate to see this & hoping it isn’t serious. DeMarcco had worked his tail off to earn the starting job last season.

The fact that Saban was able to drag the bottom tier staffs we had from 2021-2023 to two playoff appearances and two SEC championships is looking more and more impressive in hindsight. If only Pruitt wasn't an idiot redneck who made cash payments in goddamn happy meal bags.

It makes sense now. We could all tell Anderson Was not the same player his last year. I thought he was preserving himself but now we know the truth. What a pity. Why did he not go to Saban, I wonder?

I think it's becoming more and more evident that by 2021 it was getting harder and harder for Saban to hire real good assistants because many coaches were beginning to question his age and longevity. He was also notoriously difficult to work with as we all know due to his exacting standards. I think fewer and fewer coaches are wanting to deal with that kind of personality in today's game.

He was tiring of the whole hiring process. He even said , he did not mind his assistants leaving, and was all for it. He just hated that those same assistants were going after the coaches he wanted to replace them with, and taking some of his too.
