Saban benched Hurts. He’s a Sooner.

Do they have degrees from OU?

Hurts has one from Bama.

Do they claim OU?

Hurts claims Bama.

Claiming a player in the pros, is basically implying your school had part in their success. That might be technically true but disingenuous at the same time. I can’t claim a Kyler Murray just bc he was at A&M. But I can claim a Brandon Williams (former 5* RB that transferred to A&M from OU that converted to CB under Chavis and played 5 years in the pros). I’m sure no Sooner claims him, but they probably think it’s cool it worked out for him. I never seen an OU fan try to claim a Trevor Knight. People only seem to want to dual claim the very successful athletes, not the mids.

will allow a Rattler claim. He spent just as much time on the field at OU and had bigger moments there.

Nah. Rattler is a Gamecock. Graduated this December and has a Block C tattooed on his arm.

People leave CFB programs all the time. When Riley left everyone assumed he would follow his coach and that’s his right as an American. As for it being a better opportunity idk. If he stays he probably leads OU to a playoff last season. Hindsight always 20/20, though. As for Tech they were pissed when Baker left but cooled their Raider rash after some guy named Mahomes got drafted. Maybe one day Texas will have a franchise NFL QB

Was hurts a 5 year player? Seems like all the dual claims are also 5 year players.

Definitely wasn’t going to win a heisman without Lincoln.

Probably not. He wouldn’t have developed under Lincoln.

Boy it’s going to be comical when OU tries to claim Williams.

Hurts is different because he graduated from bama,

He also graduated at OU last, just like he played at OU last. OU is his last school of record.

As for OP question, no.

Both left. I do wish Spencer great luck though. SR was actually undefeated as an OU QB. He might have stayed had CW declared leaving early on. Because CW waited til last minute we almost lost Dillon Gabriel. I have nothing good to say about CW, he really seemed to delay decision with intentions to hurt us. Spencer seen CW staying so he left and I can’t blame him. Then CW left last minute.

I also think Spencer will have the better NFL career. He is more NFL ready. CW might do great early with scrambling but NFL defenses will catch on quick. SR is more a pocket passer reading defenses.

Anyone who followed the guy knew he came to Norman to play for Riley. That’s why nobody was surprised when he transferred. Learning a new system, new OC, HC, it just didn’t make sense. Plus getting the Pitt WR and his top target at OU going with him. Cmon. I do think he would’ve done just fine under Lebby. Hell, Dillon Gabriel was a “dark horse” Heisman contender with half the arm talent. Either way he’s on to greener pastures. Back to the original argument, the comparison of Ewers and Burrows doesn’t track. Neither really played any before they left. If Ewers went to the big house as a freshman and beat UM they’d be they’d be riding his dick. Tech and Baker ended kinda messy. Williams beat Texas and won a bowl game when he could've easily sat out. Those types of things tend to gain supporters.

Actually tracks quite well. Both got an initial foundation at tOSU (like Rattler and Williams) then went on to actually make a name for themselves at other schools. Funny though how the OU fan above agrees with me.

OU and Riley made Hurts what he was he doesnt forget it deep down.. Bama kicked him to the curb... those are the facts Bama fans,

With that said hes not even the 3rd best OU qb in the nfl. For you hes the 1st.

That is true. Burrow was buried in a deep QB room. Ewers was just there for a bag. But it’s hard to compare the impact on their original programs because they had none whereas the OU QBs did. Both had multiple starts, won multiple games. Rattler won a Bedlam game, beat Texas en route to a Big12 title. Caleb would’ve done the same if Riley hadn’t been checking his LA flight status every 15 minutes leading up to Bedlam.

You have never seen an OU game live or have set foot on the campus.

Burrow is a Buckeye. Educated people know this.

I think his maturity and discipline came before he was at Alabama to be 100% honest. The guy started as a true freshman beating out a 5 star QB that people had been hyping for multiple years, and nobody expected him to be the starter. It was a testament to his maturity and discipline there.

As much as I would love to see Alabama take credit for that, I think the credit goes to him, his dad and his family.

Alabama provided an environment that allowed him to flourish and build on it, but that kid came to Alabama doing the right things. That's family/upbringing.

I don't really give a crap who thinks I can claim him or whatever. I'm a fan of his beyond football.
