"The Case" meaning Tennessee suing the NCAA is about Tennessee violating the only NIL rule on the books. YOu can't have NIL contracts that include inducements for a player to enroll at or play for a school.

That's the only rule the NCAA has on NIL. Tennessee is suing to make NIL have no rules.

That has nothing to do with Spyre. Spyre comes into question with another potential NCAA violation. That violation has to do with charter flights and visiting coaches. It comes down to the question if Spyre is a booster or not (the NCAA rules say yes, they're a booster).

The argument that Spyre isn't a collective (that you're making) has nothing to do with the court case. It's a distraction from the fact that Spyre is a Booster, and thus is prohibited from certain actions (such as a flying a player out and having them meet with coaches).

1 - Tennessee has players with NIL deals that contain "pay to play" inducements (we know this because they're suing to make that okay).

2 - Tennessee is being investigated by the NCAA for that.

3 - Spyre is a booster according to NCAA bylaws.

4 - Tennessee is being investigated by the NCAA for Spyre doing things that boosters aren't allowed to do.

You can argue the details of collective vs whatever you want to classify Spyre as. Does't really matter as the only classification that matters regarding the NCAA is "booster".
