The family that I have in the area moved there in the early 90's, about the time that Lake Russell was coming into the consciousness of people outside the area. It has changed immensely. They live in Elbert and Madison Counties. Real estate prices in Madison County have gone insane. Its a great area, we though about retiring on Russell but the boat dock restriction kept us away. I like the idea of the restriction, the lake is absolutely nearly pristine, but I want to keep my boat in the water under cover most of the year.
