9 out of 12 are Georgia kids. That has to be a recent record. I love it.

I believe the philosophy is that they are less likely to transfer out if they’re local.

^^^ I haven't seen or heard any quotes from Kirby about this, but I sort of surmised the same thing. Probably easier to get some NIL money up too if they need it too.

J Terry got predictions to UGA this morning from Chad Simmons, Steve Wiltfong and Jake Reuse. I hope we get both, but if not I'd rather have the 5 star DT every time.

I've been expecting this regression towards the mean after the prevalence of transfer rules, which is why I was less worried about rules changes. All things equal, the best choice is now an has always been local kids with strong families.

With the talent situation in Georgia, these new rules benefit UGA as much or more than any program in the country.

Weren't there a few cycles where CMR missed out on most of not all of the AJC Elite 11?

Kirby hasn't had a good hit rate in state the past few years either. Now, Kirby is getting big guys all over country, but so was Richt at certain positions.

Kirby has built a dedicated following of "Little Brother" programs that desperately want to steal recruits from UGA. Most are in surrounding states but some are power programs from around the country. They see getting top recruits from the state of Georgia as a huge win; get a good player for themselves and hopefully prevent Kirby from building a dynasty that leaves them fighting for 2nd place. Even their fans in the media get involved. So recruiting money is steadily flowing into Georgia, has been since before "NIL" and moreso now.

Watching Lincoln Riley crumble under pressure down the stretch at USC has been enjoyable.

Dude has tried running away from the SEC at every turn and we are inevitable.

Most of those had higher recruits from out of state

Nice get. We'll have to wait and see, but have heard several commits incoming today. Seems like odd timing, but it would be nice.

Just to be bunched up like this. In the past they usually get spread out a bit. Maybe I am misremembering. It's happened before.

The other site now saying they expect our commits to be 17 or 18 by the end of the week....with 4 new recruits. (There is a player they feel will decommit. If he does we would have 17, if he does not..18)
