Seeing some talk on social media about dropping "Denny" from Bryant-Denny Stadium...

And rechristening it Bryant-Saban Stadium. They say Denny already has his name on Denny Chimes and that is enough. What are your thoughts?

I don't really care. Seems fine.

Denny was a beloved UA President...but Denny Chimes is the most iconic part of campus. Its enough of an honor and id support renaming the stadium

That is what I would love. Make it Bryant-Saban Stadium at Denny field.
It would be shortened to BS Stadium though.

Bryant Denny Saban - BDS
It's not that hard. It's literally right there. You can keep the same acronym and you're good to go

don't change it.
name field for saban? sure. bryant denny sounds correct. and of course y'all all know what denny meant for us. we wouldn't be us without him.
saban was goat. saban brought us back to relevance in the title hunt. he brought shite tons of money here. we can name some more shite after him, but don't change the field's name. just my $0.02

Absolutely against removing Denny from the name. He had his place in the building of Alabama and it should remain. Because someone carry’s on the tradition from the foundation that had already been laid long before does not mean you start modern replacement.
Many other ways Saban can be honored without removing Denny.

So what does Bama do if the unthinkable happens and DeBoer is here for 17 yrs and wins 7 NC at Alabama. Does it become Bryant DeBoer Denny Saban stadium. Look Saban is the best coach of all time and what he did not only for football but the university, state and City of Tuscaloosa but a statue a street should be fine besides I don’t think he cares about that anyway.

I agree… the field could be named in Saban’s honor also and rightfully so, but the university could also expand the Paul W Bryant Museum to include Saban.
The Paul W Bryant & Nick Lou Saban Jr. Museum or whatever name they choose for it.

However they do it, Saban’s name belongs on the stadium itself. Naming the field is something for a Pat Dye type.

Also, the original football field for UA was actually Denny Field. It existed essentially right in the middle of New Sorority Row. So close to the current stadium, basically across Colonial Drive.
I think it would be a nod to history to call it Denny Field at Bryant-Saban Stadium.

I can't fathom how you would not want the stadium named after the two greatest college coaches of all time and we were lucky enough to have them both at Alabama. Denny already has the chimes. It's time.

What’s George Denny done for us lately?

How old are some of you that are so quick and willing to rip a man's name off the stadium, one that's been there 100 years?
At a place that takes pride in being steeped in tradition.
Find something else to put his name on.

Alabama has the problem where two of the best who ever did it spent the bulk of their career coaching here.
The national broadcasters are not going to say “Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium” constantly so Saban’s legacy will never get the proper credit he is due. Bryant-Denny-Saban Stadium (or in some other name order) doesn’t really roll off the tongue.
I don’t think there is a great solution but the Denny Field at Bryant-Saban Stadium is probably the best.

This. How often do you hear them say "You're looking live at Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium" or "Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium" or even "Bobby Bowden Field at Doak S. Campbell Stadium" during a broadcast? This is also the risk you take when you name a building after someone. What if someone even better comes along?

How old are you to remember George Denny? He got to Alabama in 1912 and left it in 1937. The man passed away during the Eisenhower administration. As someone who is well-versed in the history and tradition of the football program, I know what Denny did for the school. However, look at what Saban did for the school AND the sport. His tenure at Alabama dramatically changed both.

Like what? There isn't anything else. How often does someone refer to Pat Dye Field when there is a game played in Jordan-Hare Stadium?

There's already a statue of him. I don't see why it's so important to rename anything after him to be honest. They could leave things exactly as they are and it's not going to reduce how worshipped and remembered he is.

Easy: Saban Arena. Build it.
It doesn't have to have a basketball coach's name on it. Nevill is named after an Auburn booster.
