Yeah really happy with the additions. DL was probably our biggest weakness and they brought in 3 key pieces. Just need to land one of these 2 WRs and we hit every need.

Maybe he didn't scout the position well, but we offered the same players that Bama, LSU, and Georgia offered every year right? So what is this offensive coach suggesting? That Auburn WASN'T offering and prioritizing 4-5 * players? Development is The Number one reason kids go or don't go to a school. I'm sure the offensive assistant you know could highlight to you how simple our scheme was in comparison to our rivals right? Gus could have camped outside a a kids house if he wanted to, but Kirby and Saban had them kids CONVINCED that coming to Auburn would set them back if they played on offense. I remember when Braden Smith went at the top of the second round, and the colts line coach saying he would have been a top 15 pick had he played at Michigan St or some big ten prostyle school. I'm NOT defending Gus as much as I'm saying you're crazy if you think a SEC coach just doesn't "emphasize" the line. That scheme is the death of offensive line recruiting period. It didn't matter what he did when kids found out.

There’s one glaring need at the most important position…

Since the 2017 signing class, which makes up five recruiting classes when you count the most recent early signing period, Auburn has signed a total of just 14 offensive linemen compared to 20 for Alabama, 22 for Georgia and 18 for LSU.

2017-2021

If what you are saying is true that only accounts for quality, not quantity. Were lower ranked guys also spurning Gus. I am talking two star Gunner Brittons out there.

For every 2* Gunner Britton at that level there are countless others who could barely manage to not give up 12 sacks a game against SEC competition (week after week). If you're criticizing Gus for not offering more 2* lineman who's final choice of school was William and Mary, Miles, and the university of Alagasco then sure, Gus missed the boat. Lol Gus instead did the only thing he could after the truth came out. Turn athletic D lineman into Prince Tega. Since signing decent lineman was no longer afforded to him He picked big, strong, athletic dudes on the other side of the ball and did what he could. How is this hard to understand?

Yea, the same people that said we would be ok with him last year. LOL

Lets just see how he does this year and then we can settle it

Dude fricking sucks and you know it. The ones of you defending him will be the ones saying its not his fault when he and Auburn fails AGAIN because we do not have a QB

I cant understand why anyone would defend what is going on in the most important position we have

Resorting to converting DL is very hard to understand. OL is a crapshoot so you sign a lot just to make sure you can have five. That is not what Gus did.

2* guys TYPICALLY are rated that low for a reason in This era. Sure in the Tubs era you might miss guys just because there were less places to showcase talent, but that's pretty freaking rare now. That level is littered with Kaleb Kim's lol Just signing what ya can makes even less sense that what he chose to do man. Lol A LOT of highschool d line recruits play both ways like Jeremiah Wright did. Since they were the only guys at that size on the team with SEC caliber ability, he tried to make that shite work while he could. Lol Signing a bunch of 2 star lineman in 2017-2018 would have resulted in the Bama sack game for us.

Freeze knows it too. That’s why he tried to sign Leonard, Ward, and Salter. Unfortunately, there’s nobody of that caliber in the portal right now. If Salter graduates, Freeze will nab him with a quickness. And he will be QB1.

This is going to sound as little brother as it could, the gumps having Heisman trophy winners at RBs, WR and QB has really sucked. Even with a mish mash of OCs and schemes, they got Jalen, Tua, Jones and Young and stud RD1 WRs on a train which is just fricking unreal. All I want is a decent line and someone at QB who can just have some balls and get the ball out without taking sacks and running around as if they are about to shite their pants (or actually did) so that we can at least see what type of success Freeze can have calling plays and running a competent offense.

Doesnt have to be all two star. There should be a heavy emphasis on numbers if you cant have quality though. Depending on DL conversions is fricking laughable

He tried is all I'm saying man!!! I mentioned Jmarion Gooch because he was a mid tier 3* who was giving the runaround. That's what we were reduced to because of the (situation) NOT for a lack of trying. He didn't WANT to convert D lineman, BUT THAT'S THE ONLY CHOICE HE WAS LEFT WITH. You're making me ruin the damn recruiting thread lololol

Then if we get that, our wants will change. We want to win. Plain and simple. All of us

Nobody is going to be happy if the offense lights it up and the defense loses the games. We all want a winning team. Thats it

And we cant compare ourlseves to Bama. They have been on the best run in college football history. Everybody wants what Bama has had

We need a QB
