For real? I haven't even seen any details of the contract.

Money spent in three head coaches and a bunch of coordinators. We’ll see how it rolls

DeBoer was making $4.2M at Washington.

That’s what he made his last year at Washington. They offered him double that to stay. He turned it down.
I dont think the terms of his deal have been released.

DeBoer was offered 9.4M at UW, I doubt he’s at 4.2M. That was his UW salary like someone else said

Pretty sure this is not accurate.

He's getting paid roughly 1m more than at Washington. My guess is he had essentially the same base salary package offered to him from Washington. He just wanted to be here instead of there. If he wins big, he will be getting Saban money sooner rather than later.
What this allows is pushing money towards the assistant coaches. Probably also results in some big booster cash going to the NIL fund instead of the CTF.

Yep, money for on the field coaches is imperative. Hope we got some good ones.
The long run is to win consistently for a ten year period at a place like Alabama and if you win a championship, you are set. HopeKD is that dude. Maybe buy a house next to Saban or something.

Washington offered him an extension of approx $70 million over 7 years. Probably started in the $8-10million range and ended closer to $11-$12 for total of 70.
He will prol be in the $9-10MM range at Bama.
The average annual compensation for Power Five programs in 2023 was $5.9 million while the average in the SEC in 2023 was $7.6 million.

Yeah that is really the question is what did CKD negotiate for his assistants? That will be crucial

How many schools pay the basketball coach more than the football coach?
Kentucky? Duke?

Mark Gottfried made more than Shula for a year or two.

Wash. offered him 9.2 million, so we can assume its 10-11 million, too much for any coach IMHO, but it is what it is
