Yeah there are going to be some growing pains, that's for sure. To be honest, I'm curious about how the new staff will prep the younger guys. Spring can't get here fast enough.

It's oddly exciting. When Saban was here, most wins were almost guaranteed. With a new coach, it almost makes the new season a bit more exciting, because who knows how the season will turn out.

Meh, they lose a lot but the front 7 on defense will be very good, the secondary is concerning.

I’m not very worried about the offense.

I wouldn’t be surprised for Alabama to beat LSU again.

will be to lobby SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey to lift the "SEC to SEC" restriction in the spring portal?
When did this become a rule?!

Milroe is going to have to carry more on his shoulders.

His already suspect OL has lost some depth. He has hardly any RB production returning. His WR options have been gashed.

And on the other side of the ball, that secondary has been blown up.

We have a starting spot for him over at LSU.
So y’all can take him right now but Alabama can’t get any guys from the SEC next time the portal opens for them in the spring?

don't you think that Bama AD Greg Byrne's full-time job after these next two weeks will be to lobby SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey to lift the "SEC to SEC" restriction in the spring portal?

Why would the SEC change a rule last minute that would help one team but hurt the other 15? No chance.

Per On3, there are currently over 1,000 players in the portal.

You can have any of them that you want.

You're right. We could lose to Auburn. But I don't see that happening either.

Who cares, glad the weak have left. Bama will be fine like always. We have a grand slam hire at HC and his staff are all grand slam hires. Bama will continue hitting Grand Slams. So suck it.

Am I doing it right?

What makes you think that the other schools would be excluded?

Read Chris Low’s most recent article. Guys who could have jumped in the portal and been quickly snatched up are circling the wagons. Bama is also going to pick up some transfers in the next few days. We’ll be fine…you worry about how your second year coach hemorrhaged his coaching staff seemingly overnight.

It's the delusional Bama fans who don't understand football or building a roster that will create a toxic environment where no coach can succeed. The smart and logical group understands how bad this is. Remember a TON of them can't even name the starters or most of the players on the team. It's about to get bad

So, can we assume that 2024 Alabama will pull a Colorado and recruit 40-something transfers?

It remains to be seen what the roster will look like when the special portal window closes, but Bama will clearly have to rely on the portal for next season. There’s some smoke out there about some former Bama targets who are interested.

Bama didn’t liquidate half the roster like Deion did. The guys who have left since Saban retired clearly are being told they can create more value for themselves in the portal. Some will, and some will play on Sundays regardless of where they spend their next year or two of eligibility.

Front 7 still lookin pretty spicy. Even more so when you throw in three 5-stars on the edge who are ready to break out after a year of S&C and practice behind Turner and Braswell (Russaw, Pierre, Keeley).

When 5 stars are forced to unexpectedly step in during the offseason it’s a good thing. When 5 stars are unexpectedly forced to step in during the season it’s a bad thing.

Nothing about those guys stepping in in 2024 is unexpected. The guys in front of them were Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell.
