Not trying to be antagonistic but could you cite a source for knowing Saban was looking at retiring in December? Everything I've seen, including his interview on ESPN says it wasn't known until, well, just before it was announced.

No one said (on this thread) that his decision was based on the outcome of the bowl game. What was stated in the original post was that players approached him after the bowl game requesting that their NIL deals be re-evaluated.
