Dan Lanning is 37 years old. He coached under Saban and Kirby. He's 22-5 at Oregon. His recruiting classes finished the last two cycles ranked #4 and #7 overall.
He's my choice.

Realistic list?
1. Kiffin
2. Lanning
Including unrealistic hires?
Put DeMeco at 1 and Sark at 3. I'm obviously not including beyond realistic pipe dreams here because obviously Kirby would be 1

I think it’s great how Bama fans want a total bust at HC in Kiffin. He literally has a failing record as a HC

Sure Franklin would win 9 or 10 a year, but he ALWAYS loses the big game

quote:What about Marcus Freeman? I personally think he would kill it there, but doubt Alabama would seriously consider a guy that's only been head coach for 2 years without the same kind of success Lanning or DeBoer have had in the W-L column

You could definitely do a lot worst. His age alone would be a huge deal in my opinion. If he does take it and is as good as he is at Oregon he could be there 20 years

Penn State is a big name but its not talked about how much they lack resources.

Dan Lanning
Lane Kiffin
Steve Sarkesian
That’s the only names I am very familiar with though

What about Marcus Freeman?
I love his attitude, recruiting, and how the players love him. But Notre Dame has been an objectively worse program since they hired him

That happens when you put too many resources into molesting children. Kind of like what’s happening in our government and Hollywood.
