Golding is killing it in recruiting there, most of these defensive portal additions were Golding’s recruiting not Kiffin’s. Golding has always been a good recruiter. He was a good hire for them. Definite upgrade.

You derailed the thread by bringing ED O and Chizik into it, now you’re bringing in Jimbo.
Once again, it's just the internet. No one cares. I laid out a perfectly reasonable argument for why Dabo would not be a good fit. You're the one who chose to focus on two obviously not serious suggestions. By all means, keep simping for Dabo and his two titles that will be over a decade old when Saban retires though.

Cool. Let’s say Dabo has another couple 9-3 or 8-4 seasons in the less than stellar ACC. Would that concern you?
Yes. Next year is big for him and Kiffin. With all that FSU is losing, I could easily see Clemson winning the ACC next year and getting into the 12 team playoff. I already think Ole Miss will be a playoff team next season.

What has he done?
Most wins ever at Ole Miss?
Revolutionized our offense at Bama?
He's not going to be as good as Saban. No one else will be.
He's the closest thing to a "sure thing" or "safe bet" that we'll have at that point, and he'd crawl to Tuscaloosa to take the job.

If he wants to replicate his recent success, he’ll have to embrace it. Right now he’s like an NFL GM trying to build a team with just the draft and no free agents.
It can’t be done.
On the other hand, I’m not sure Dabo cares. He’s already plenty rich with a very nice legacy. I can easily see him just walk away and find himself a nice little FCS program where he can stick to his principals and still be successful.

Kiffen hired Pete Golding
He works for both this Kiffen guy AND Lane Kiffin?
I didn’t think Pete had that much of a work ethic.

and Kiffin has built his team with mostly free agents. I'm not sure that's the way to go either. I like the way Saban is doing it, recruiting most of our players from high school then adding a transfer here and there when we have an immediate need.

He might change his ways when he has the recruiting pull of ALabama.
Might be a "necessity" thing at Ole Miss.

That’s 100% the way to go at a place like Alabama or any other high level program.

He has to....it's Ole Miss.....they don't recruit themselves like Bama.

As much as I dislike Freeze he signed some good recruits at Ole Miss. DK Metcalf, Laquon Treadwell, Laremy Tunsill, ect. Granted he was paying the players and using escorts.

I’d be good with Lane but I seem to recall that a certain member of BOT would literally have to die first. Who knows, maybe this guy could be persuaded?

Oregon was already decent and the program has good money so again what has Lanning done?
Posted on 1/1/24 at 8:40 am to Joka2kold
Idk… signed a six yr deal for $45 million making $7 million a yr at the age of 37.
Other than that I guess nothing

Yes but no chance. He’s an NFL guy.

Demeco Ryans anyone?
A guy with a grand total of 0 days of college coaching experience at any level and in his first season as an NFL head coach after only 5 years as an assistant?
Sure, what could possibly go wrong?

Would like Lanning or Schumann as well but I wouldn’t be upset with Kiffin
