Kiffin is THE obvious successor

He's built for this modern day semi-pro model that college has become.
He's young, and he already has what seems like a 100 years of experience under his belt. I feel comfortable predicting his best years are ahead of him as he continues to put it all together and mature.
Nobody could replace Saban, but Kiffin with the Bama brand and resources would kill it on the recruiting trail, and keep Bama in the hunt every year especially with expanded playoffs.
He will always have an elite QB, and that usually means elite WR's, skill players, etc.
His kids play hard for him, and he shows a lot of fire on the sideline. I believe I've finally arrived at a place where I feel at peace with Kiffin being the guy, and even a little excited about the idea to the point where I'll be disappointed if it's not him. The only other name out there that interest me is Lanning.

No thank you on Lanning!
Before any one of them...Terry Saban is the first.

Give that guy a couple more years of seasoning and I think he is top of the list.

Saban looks and acts like a maybe 62 year old coach. Kiffin will have a legit position long before Saban retires.

Yeah and I think Saban knows Kiffin wants it as well.
I really think Kiffin saw the throne and saw what came with it and from that point has made him it his goal to take it

A few years ago I would have said Kiffin doesn’t have the maturity to take the helm at Alabama. He can coach and recruit but didn’t believe he had the CEO skills it takes to run a major program. I am starting to change my opinion. Someone will level him up before Saban retires tho……although Bama is a job like no other.

Nothing much, Lanning is only 37 but he’s done a good job so far at Oregon

I'll take Kiffin over Lanning.
Kiffin will go for it on 4th down at the fifty on national TV if he feels like that's what he has to do to win. In other words he isn't scared to be second guessed, or what people will say about him. He will do exactly what he thinks has to be done to win - that takes balls. A lot of people fear the kind of second guessing that comes with that, but Kiffin is more of a DGAF kind of guy that calls his own shots.
He comes from the Saban tree, but Kiff was HC of the Raiders when he was 30 years old, and his father was a defensive minded legend. When you think about it there is no other guy that has the pedigree or the ego to attempt to replace Saban.
I think as the trips to the bars and behavior of youth fade away, and all that is left is football for a guy like Kiffin you're looking at a coach that is poised to come into his own.
I think the crowd at Kiffins first Media days as Bamas head coach would send a clear message to the entire league and recruits as Kiffin would instantly be more polarizing than any coach in the league. The media can't get enough Kiffin. It would be comical to see how much more exposure he would get than Sark or Kirby.
I think Kiff is a day 1 keep the train rolling hire assuming he has the right coaches around him. I think he also continues the tradition of the highest profile coach being at Bama which we all have grown accustomed to, and that would burn texas and mUlliGAn fans asses up.

Bama is a different animal. I think Lane would do a great job. Plus he has a little smart arse in him.

Why would Lanning interest you but not DeBoer? DeBoer has done more, inherited a worse situation, and keeps beating Lanning.

I agree about Kiffin. But I think Saban goes at least 3 more years. That might be too late to get Lane.

I definitely have been impressed with him, and I think he's a really sharp guy, but I get the feeling he would be a fish out of water in the deep south.
Kiffin has made the south his home.
We cant have one of those Auburn yankee coach experiments at Dixies football pride, Alabama.

I agree on Kiffin. I want him, but he has to leave Golding in Mississippi.

More than anything I would love to see a statue of Kiffin outside of Bryant-Denny
Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, Bear Bryant, Gene Stallings, Nick Saban
Lane fricking Kiffin?
Epic troll
