The difference is Samford cost more than 30k in the early 2000s… auburn didn’t.

It is what it is… and barring some miracle, it’s why my kids will not be OOS students at auburn.

Where are you seeing 30k for AU? The total cost for instate directly from AU.edu is about 14k total. That's a damn steal. Out-of-state has always been double.

ETA

Unless you are posting annual cost. 30k annual is a great deal.

They are over $30k if we are using the same metrics of AU being over $30k.

Bama estimates total direct and indirect cost for undergrad in-state is roughly $33k. Auburn is $35k.

Had no idea Auburn was that expensive these days. But like others have said, have to pay for the growth somehow
