The only thing that has changed this year and possibly moving forward is that instead of Clemson (most likely) or UGA getting those players over Saban is Freeze at Auburn.

You say you disagree then end up agreeing... you're argument (I think?) is that Auburn doing better in recruiting will just poach from Clemson and Georgia? Maybe you could argue that a bit but it's inarguable Auburn is now competing with Alabama for every top recruit in the state - 1v1 recruiting battles just AU/AL. Auburn flipped Perry Thompson - that's direct. Auburn has been trying to flip RW and at a minimum has made AL pony up a few extra chargers for him.

No what I am saying is Saban has always had to fight for recruits instate. This not something new. FSU grabbed Winston. Clemson and UGA has grabbed players from instate. The only difference now is AU is taking the place of those teams to compete against Alabama in recruiting for top instate players in the current cycle.

AU is not poaching just replacing who Alabama has to recruit against. But again, it does not change anything. AU fans seem to think this is something new for UA and it may be new for younger AU fans, which it really is not, but the reality is Saban has always battled someone for the top recruits in AL and has never gotten everyone he wants in any year.

I understand it feels like a win but in the grand scheme of things it happens every year where UA misses on a top instate recruit(s) Saban wanted. But as you and so many other have pointed out is Freeze actually recruiting at the same level of Saban or as some of you think he may be out recruiting him but just willing to spend more money to get a recruit that has nothing to do with the ability of Freeze to recruit.

Freeze's history in regard to recruiting a top-level class we saw how that ended and for the program he was at. He has yet showed he can recruit players to come play for him without some extra benefit. A benefit that now may be legal but as so many AU fans have pointed out it is not Freeze but NIL money boosters are throwing out there.

That's the whole point.

Boosters pay NIL at every program. The difference was Harsin was a POS and boosters hated him, so they wouldn't pony up for him. Now AU is driving up prices for its competitors as the boosters are willing to back Freeze.

If you think Bama hasn't been buying classes I've got some news for ya

Every good player at Alabama and Auburn has been paid since the 80s (at least). Bama got very good at it in the 2010s but now it's legal.

The naivety and delusion of Bama fans is hilarious. They think all these awesome recruiting classes they’ve got for years was due to nothing more than guys wanting to wear that crimson jersey.

Hate to break it to you. But Bama was built on money and it was done long before it was legal.

And yet, AU fans all want to talk about how much more money their alumni make as opposed to Bama. Please don't tell me you believe AU wasn't paying players as well and Cam just came to Auburn because he liked West Georgia.

It just depends on how much bigger Auburn's check was than the one Bama comes back with.
