It hurts Texas but not Alabama?

If Texas loses Saturday and Bama wins I assure you that Bama will jump them

I don’t think FSU wins the game, first of all.

Second of all, I agree that FSU does not pass the eye test over anyone else.

If FSU were to dominate, then maybe.

Yeah, because Texas does not have any other impressive wins. And losing to OU is a worse loss.

They weren't great on the eye test before, I should have mentioned this in my original comment but I was really trying to say they have to sell people on being competitive with that new QB. If they had Travis and ran the table, they would be in .

Everyone forgets, Texas had a four yard scoring drive in the 4th to salt the game away.
That's a weird way of saying "the Texas defense outplayed the Alabama offense to create opportunity in a football game"

That game could have gone either way up until that point.
And it went Texas' way because they played better and showed they were the better team. That's how football works?

So the rest of the schedule does matter in how you evaluate the quality of each team. Interesting.
They don't have the opportunity to play the same schedule. Hence why they played eachother.

There's a reason games are played on the field on not on paper, baw...

The big 12 is officially the weakest it’s ever been in its history this year, no one should be shocked if TU gets left out

Beating Georgia in the SEC championship game is more impressive than beating Bama in week two when their QB is not the same person

Beating the #1 team who hasn't lost in 29 games would absolutely make any team have a considerable jump in rankings. Head to head be damned. It's why it is better to lose early in season than late. You can do things to overcome it. You had your chance to knock Bama out of playoffs and had one of the biggest choke jobs I have ever witnessed

Well of course they would. In that scenario Texas is 11-2 and Alabama is 12-1 and only the latter would be conference champions. That's not really a debate

Aggies: beating the SEC champion in their stadium is less impressive than beating non-champion Georgia on a neutral field.

Huh? I was under the impression that Alabama's starting quarterback was named "Jalen Milroe" all season and was wore number 4.

Was somebody else wearing his jersey in Week 2?

Additionally, losing to OU is less impressive.

People are really thinking about this too much.

If we have a tie-breaker between multiple teams who are 1-loss conference champions for a playoff spot, the first tie-breaker will be what it always is.

Head to head.

None of the rest will matter. The first tie-breaker settles it.

They see him play well against shite defenses and think "he's a totally different QB!"

Even though he threw for 5 TDs against their cupcake in week 1 and had everyone saying Alabama was going to crush us because were up by 8 at halftime against Rice.

Well I'm not really sure what Temple has anything to do with it, but Texas had a top 5 strength of schedule? LINK

You aggies sure like taking shots at a conference you fared worse in than your current league

This is just Mandel's opinion but I’m sure there are a lot of people on the committee that do see it like him.

Simply put: there are 3 potential 12-1 Conference Champions after next weekend and these would be their resumes before you consider anything else:

3-1 Vs Top 15
4-1 Vs Top 25

1-1 Vs Top 15
2-1 Vs Top 25

1-1 Vs Top 15
1-1 Vs Top 25

My personal opinion is that Texas goes but that’s probably because I’ve never loved to whole playoff idea.

However, if you have a playoff where you’re supposedly trying to get the 4 teams that have shown they’re the best over a complete season a strong argument can be made for the 12-1 team with the most Top15/25 wins.

There’s a lot more to it than that.

Otherwise, FSU would be a lock with a win and they are not.
