Some top teams are using the portal for starters and many top teams are only where they are at due to the portal. There are maybe 3 or 4 teams that could get away with not using it and we aren't even close to being one of them. Bama had 4 portal starters last season. Not sure about this season.

UF 6 4 stars / 6 3 stars
Bama 2 4 stars / 3 3 stars

Mullen put a stamp on it, and mailed it in. Napier has no idea where the post office is located.
No, Mullen crashed a Ferrari of offensive talent into the wall, threw Billy the keys and walked away.
How many Mullen players went on to star somewhere else?
When your team gets pushed around by Samford. It’s not SEC caliber and sitting on your wallet for the next guy isn’t going to fix it

We've been getting pushed around on defense for more than 5 years now.
Idgaf about rehashing Mullen's failures or McElwain's. Our football program is a dumpster fire We fricking suck, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
And, in my opinion it's going to get worse, before it gets better. We can argue about Disney whatever the frick, or the Uaa. But, it's all a big waste of time. Nothing will change as long as inept people are in charge.

Our big boosters need to decide if they want to support a HC who wins and if they want elite players to come here or if they want a nice guy who hangs out with them and to finish in the 20s and 30s in recruiting rankings.

I think it's pretty clear, they've already made that decision.

Sadly, I think you are 100% correct.

The uaa is in charge and they are inept
That’s why we need to clear them out and get some competent people in there

Not going to happen. People pay a lot of money for those tickets, and boxes. And most have for a long time. You may get a few, but never on a large scale.

Could billy hire Tommy Rees to be OC?
Seems like a Napier type move, hiring someone else’s garbage (Harris at cb coach from Washington or Hocke and sale from UGA)

Yep if our 2nd half schedule was our 1st half schedule in 2024 we would see a bunch of empty seats later in the season. If we let Ole Miss come in there and drop us to 6-5 or 5-6 the crowd is going to really let them hear about it.

you should ask Hal if he likes paying $30 million dollar buyouts.

Hard to believe a coach who has worse game mgmt abilities than most high school coaches will leave UF after getting like 50 million total for 3 years of terrible football.

I wonder when the Boosters will get tired of paying crap coaches to stop coaching? Will they realize it probably will be cheaper in the long run to hire a competent coach and pay NIL for top recruits so we don't have to keep hiring these no name coaches and getting lesser talent and going through this "hire and fire" cycle every 3-4 years?

I have a very strong feeling that Billy could go 0-12 next season and still be employed because of “integrity”.

I could see it.
Let's take a step back and look at the conversation people are having. Going into year 3, people are saying, "Billy needs to win at least 7 games to keep his job".
7 win standard in year 3, after 2 losing seasons, is absolutely ridiculous.
I'm not saying Florida should be competing for national/SEC titles every year, or winning 10+ every year. But Florida definitely should be a program, no matter how "down" it gets, that should be able to not worry about having to get above .500 every season. Hell, I get that there could be a down year every now and then, but we're on the verge of 4 straight losing seasons.
That should not be acceptable anywhere, especially at Florida.

It is a joke what has happened here. I would have never believed after the 90s we could be at this point apparently with the office people and the big boosters. A different breed of big boosters than we had before I guess. I could care less if some of them just disconnected from football if they are hindering us and hopefully they take Foley and company with them. We are in danger of turning into a souped up Vanderbilt at the rate its going.
