Meta, just let me think for you. You are smarter that way.
I love how after years of posting and being right on 98% of the shite I post, you have ONE thing to bring up repeatedly. Get some new material, boss.
Malik Willis was still a 3rd round pick, so the fact that you think this is some catastrophic fail is hilarious. You've repeated this about a dozen times now. Got anything new Einstein? Or is your bird brain that small?
I was actually nice to you tards and didn't bother to bump up the DOZENS upon DOZENS of posts I made about what has going on with Harsin while you clowns were eating up the shite about how he was some big alpha and the meanie boosters were lying to get him out of town. You remember that? I was just making everything up remember lol?

That team out fundamentaled and out-physicaled (this is now a word) more than the Minnesota team that year.

Hugh has looked like he’s thrown games all year. Everybody talks about players, but we had a way better players than NMSU and still got our arse whipped. Year 1 = total fail

I will take an over all 8-4 program if we are like our history has been. An undefeated season once a decade. A couple chances to win a MNC a decade. And with the new playoff a goal would be to go each year but I would take 4 trips every 12 years. So once every 3 year cycle.
Work from there and if things fall into place then go on a historic run. So we will see how it turns out.
This every game must be won, every play be played perfect, every year is a championship mentality is a miserable experience. Only Bama has had that opportunity for in the grand scheme short periods of time. About 6-8 years under bear and about 12 years under Saban. Do I want that of course but I love Auburn for being Auburn not because what I want them to become

But did we really have better players than NMSU?

It cannot be a complete fail when getting past year one is part of the journey. What were your expectations going in? Did you grow up like Chex expecting to win everything just because you are Auburn?

Maybe we can all just recognize and hope that the coaches recognize that that drubbing wasn’t solely because of the roster. It was because the team and coaching staff weren’t ready for the game. It was noticeable from the first drive on. A little self awareness may go a long way. It doesn’t help to blame everyone else for your failure. So his “punishment” is recognizing his own failure and not letting it happen again.

No I'm not. That is why you play the game. The points are not always true predictor. If they were then no need to play the games. Underdogs do win sometimes.
It took the current coaches at FSU and Mizzou (both top 10 teams this week) 4 years of rebuilding to get where they are today. This year is only Freeze's first year having to clean up after Gus and Mr. Potato Head's mess.

Thank You! The people here think they can put a timeframe on what is acceptable and what is not acceptable when they dont even know the exact limitations of our roster.

Tater Tot & Gus both had storybook seasons in their 1st years.
Sorry, I didn't want to go there, but you forced my hand.

I saw Auburn this year. Played a couple of better opponents tough, beat up on some lesser ones. No one expected this who wasn't from New Mexico. Hats off to them and all, but damn, AU simply didn't show up. Why it happens, I'll never understand.

I'm like you guys. I didn't think from the jump we would be a 9-10 win team but I thought they would fight like hell to win. If we had played vandy yesterday like they played nmsu they would have kicked our arse. It was the total lack of effort that was worrisome. How do you go from skull dragging Arkansas to getting pounded by new Mexico state? Coaches have got to figure that out. If they play bama like they did yesterday it will be a 50 point game quick.

And I’d bet we play really hard against Bama. What bothers me is that even if Freeze gets this rolling in the next few years, I’ll be concerned every single game no matter who the team is that we will shite the bed. I’m just having a hard time right now seeing how Brother Hugh is any different than Gus. He may be a tad bit better than Gus recruiting, maybe. I just am having severe deja vu. Even with the offense, we look like crap, well we couldn’t get the tempo we wanted, we look good, we did a great job of establishing tempo. It’s like a direct replay.

Yes and in 1993 Tot had Pat Dye's recruits with two stud RBs (Bostic and Davis) and a senior QB Stan White and Sanders at WR to work with. We also almost lost to Ole Ms and Vandy. Many of us remember when we were stuck with Demontray Carter as RB. The best Tot could recruit. His recruiting took a nose dive cause he could not compete with his diddy and the old ball coach. He ran us into the ground. And left in the middle of the season leaving Brother Oliver as interim HC.
Gus had a new approach that took others like Jeremy Pruitt a while to figure out and then Gus got lazy to change and adjust.

I think freeze may have the ability to adapt to scheme based on his players better than gus. 2013 broke gus and he just stuck with the same offense no matter who he had available. I think offensive minded coaches have a difficult time either letting go of the reins or adapting to their coordinator. It seems like the most successful head coaches are ex defensive guys. Is that because they aren't meddling in the offense? I think that may be our issues on the offensive side. Montgomery and freeze seem to be butting heads on scheme, personnel, etc. How did it take so long to roll with one qb? That seems like a one or two game decision. I honestly believe that screwed this team out of at least 1 win. Not having consistency in a qb threw a lot of momentum off. We definitely need better talent across the board but also coaches that can develop them.

Yes see Tuberville - a defensive guy.
Some of his OCs were good like Gorgeous Borges. Some not so good like Nall ball and Tony Franklin. He knew from time to time he needed change at OC.

It does Auburn no good to have Montgomery near Auburn, Alabama if the two are not on the same page. Freeze is the boss and Montgomery is the subordinate. The whole grand purpose for having Freeze was his offense. Montgomery can take a hike. It is ideal for your HC to be able to call at least one side of the ball. Freeze should be able to call offense, just like Smart should be able to call the defense if he needs to. That works for program continuity purposes as Freeze and Smart should only have to worry about assistant coaches leaving on the opposite side of the ball, not both sides of the ball. For all intents and purposes, the coaches working alongside Freeze and Smart within their acclaimed side of the ball should be loyal extensions willing to carry out how Freeze and Smart has done things for years.
Us having to deal with a fricking HC that is suddenly wanting to abandon the offense upon arrival is not great. Freeze should have come to lock down the offense and to kick all the other actors out. This is that Malzahn 2.0 bullshite showing up in realtime.

You called Jyaire Shorter a a grown arse man and I havent even seen that motherfricker on the field. You are right as much as a broken clock and I am your daddy.
