Correct. After switching our lockeerrom from the east endzone to the west endzone, adding a fancy new recruit lounge, medical site, and walk out tunnel in 2018, to the recent renovations to the southside lower concourse this past offseason and adding a new gate area on the bridge and southwest corner, plus the phase 2 renovations to take place as soon as this season ends....I agree. It is obvious that spending money on a sound system is not really a priority right now.

Not a fan of all the video and piped in audio crap.

I can completely empathize why you've moved on to conversations typically reserved for post-season.

UGA fans, any plans to upgrade the sound system and/or video boards?
I know y'all let the play on the field do all the entertaining, but I think it is time for a major upgrade in your guys stadium 'experience".
A little lacking if I may say so myself.
You been to a night game in Athens recently?
No?
Ok.

The video board is fine. The sound system needs to be completely re-vamped.
Right now, they’re relying FAR too much on the massive speakers in the scoreboard itself to boom the sound through the stadium. The result is intolerably loud music levels when you’re sitting in the west end of the stadium.
They need to spread the speaker system out more evenly so you get a more uniform sound spread throughout w/o blasting the eardrums out of people in the west end zone.

The bridge view is very over rated. I would rather have upgraded video board and more seats behind that end zone than a view looking into or out of the stadium

The whole bridge thing is silly. Your stadium looks really weird with 3 huge sides and a dinky little endzone at the other end. I'm not complaining about Sanford, just this aspect... and the restrooms.

We used to have the same issue and we hired some company to come in and really improve the stadium sound. It's improved so much that now I've not been in many stadiums that would rival the current sound system at Ole Miss.

An unimpressive stadium for sure.

I don’t care about the bridge view, but the open end gives the stadium a unique look that most big stadiums just don’t have any more. Most of the big CFB stadiums all just kind of look the same now.
The long shadows in October and November afternoon games are gorgeous and the stadium still manages to look like its old self despite a number of expansions and upgrades over the decades, which is a testament to the way UGA has gone about those changes.

Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and A&M all have stadiums that look nothing like the others.

I’d wager GreyReb is a Millennial. Enthralled by loud, flashy and shine over substance. Dig a little deeper and I bet he’s pissed there isn’t a safe space in the stadium too.

I haven’t been to a game in Sanford since 2017 so I honestly don’t know what it’s like any more. Last two games I went to were the 2019 and 2022 seccg in our other home stadium. Place is posh. Especially in the club level.

I’d rather they just spend that money on recruiting instead. It seems to have a bigger payoff at the moment

It’s amazing what UGA fans somehow think is disrespect. I had no issue with the video boards (besides seeing too many replays of the arse whooping). The sounds system was awful. It could do with a lot of improvement.
Otherwise, your fans were super loud, louder than Tuscaloosa this year by far. And I think Ole Miss needs to take some notes as well from a student experience as well. Their students get some good real estate in that stadium and are directly next to the band. Their students also seemed more coordinated than ours do, doing specific cheers, etc. when certain songs are played. Probably something that comes with time, success, and championships.

Georgia AD needs to call Keith Carter and ask for our sound guys number.
Georgia hasn’t moved into the new age of everything is about the production of an event, like a concert. Which is fine with winning the way yall do I guess.
Sanford one of the few stadiums that tunnels east and West instead of North and south, not that that has anything to do with topic. Just always found interesting.
