On the cusp of his second 10 win season in 3 years at Ole Miss, after Ole Miss had never had a 10 win season in it's entire history, and yet there are still people doubting this man as a head coach.
Winning in this league is hard, and to win at this clip at Ole Miss is extremely hard.
Lane is a great coach, and it would be a fricking shame to see him wind up at a place like aTm, but it could very well happen, because most experienced head coaches will have a much larger buyout. Lane is very affordable because of the contract restrictions in Mississippi.

I think A&M has had to have him in negotiations or someone already. Firing blind after the win doesn’t make much sense

I'd stay at OM if i were him.

It could be potentially a $45M buyout plus his salary which he would want the deal Jimbo got. Factor in all the assistant coaches settlements and Jimbo’s $76M. You quickly get close to $200M. If the Aggots write that check I say good luck.

Who is doubting him as being a good coach? Plus, he's a good recruiter and uses the portal as well as anyone. Not sure about the NIL program at Ole Miss but has some really good players. He trusts himself and he trusts the analytics.

Maybe I’m dead wrong but I just don’t see Kiffin going to A&M. Now if Lanning left Oregon for A&M I could see Kiffin going there

He’s a pain in the arse where ever he goes. He’s a menace because he’s always among the leaders of offense strategy . I wish he go to another conference .

Vaught had multiple 10-win seasons. Cutcliffe had one as well.

We had never won ten regular season games before Kiffin got here. Now, he has a good chance to do it twice in the last three years. Kiffin has been a great coach for us and has cemented us as a perennial Top 15/20 team, which is incredible considering where we were under Matt Luke.
I don't see Kiffin going to A&M because of the overall cost that the move would imply and because of cultural fit, but if it happens, we'll be in a much better position than we were when he arrived.

Fourteen seasons as a head coach with three divisional titles and two mid-season firings...

Contract restrictions is the smartest thing that state has ever done. Keeps Universities from doing stupid things.

Kiffin turned down the Auburn job, partially because his kids protested.
ATM’s salary will be difficult to turn down.

As others have said, this is not a scientific take, but I just really don't see Kiffin at A&M.

Lane Kiffin is a good coach. I have struggled with figuring out if his big game troubles are a factor of him over-thinking ways to overcome talent deficits or Kiffin banging up against the hard ceiling of Ole Miss football?

False.

False. State contracts can only be for four years but Lane signed a K with the private athletic foundation that runs for eight years. No one knows what the buyout is, but I doubt he insisted on having one for A&M like he did for USC at Tennessee.

Good coach, would be very dangerous with big money to spend on recruits at AtM
