Ozuna walks, Olson singles. Another run cost, 13. Becoming a trend.

The Braves will always be out-strategized with Snit as mngr.
The WS win was despite him. He tried to let Luke Jackson lose every single on of our series victories at some point that year.

Rumors Acuna may not have torn the knee. This season is a bit of a train wreck.

Lose the favorite for the Cy Young in week 1

Lose starting catcher first week

Lose last years MVP in May

Not an auspicious start as skip carry used to say.

Yep, very rough start. Not just injuries, but guys struggling big time at the plate. Fried getting pulled in the first inning of his first start due to missed strike call, etc.

Pretty much have to hope the bats are hot in the fall and that Lopez, Sale, and Fried are all sharp in postseason. That, and the Phillies going cold/rusty after the layoff like Braves/Dodgers have the past couple of years.

Welp, Acuna has demolished his left knee. Out for season.

We've got everybody where we want them now if you know what I mean.

The Phillies look like the class of the National League and perhaps all of baseball at the moment which makes this that much worse.
Anything can happen in October, though. There's no reason the Braves can't get a wildcard. Let the Phillies have a week off in October. See how they respond.

Acuña is a huge loss. Not only for his bat, but just his presence in the leadoff spot.
Time to move money Mike to the 1 hole. The pitching hasn't been THAT bad. History shows that 2 strong starters and a strong bullpen can carry you in the playoffs.

I thought the Braves needed another starter before Acuña got hurt, and I still feel that way. I'm not sure Duval can play 120 games, and it will become an issue, but pitching wins championships.
Missing Eddie Rosario right now. Wonder if Pillar is available.

Riley, Olson, & Ozuna are more than capable of carrying this offense. Money is the key at the top of the lineup. He shouldve been in the 2 hole already this season. He's a contact hitter that can steal bases. He's the key moving forward. Will Snit figure it out? Probably not.

Harris
Ozzie
Riley
Olson
Ozuna
Catcher
Arcia
Duval
Kelenic

That's how I see it. As long as Harris is swinging the bat well, Kelenic should see a lot of pitches to hit. Acuña's injury may be the shot in the arm this team needed, as bad as that sounds. 2 knee surgeries suck. He's probably a clean-up DH type moving forward. 26 years old. You hate it for the guy.

Who in their right f/n mind would have possibly thought it was a good idea to sign Charlie Morton to a one year 20-million-dollar contract? Time to clean house including the manager. F/N embarrassing. Almost as embarrassing as the Murphy softball show!

The same guy that thought we needed another swing hard and hope for contact player at the deadline in Soler who happens to only be viable as a DH because his defense is pure garbage, but Braves already have one of the top DH in the game.

Same guy that traded Contreras and a boatload of prospects for Sean Murphy

Same guy that made 15 trades to bring Kelenic in from Seattle for some reason instead of simply signing a legit LF in the off season.

I give AA a pass because he also went out and landed Chris Sale and Lopez who have both saved the pitching staff, but Snit is awful. Why TF is he still in that dugout ?

Is anyone going to pull Olson to the side and explain in a detailed film session that his swing is FUBAR and show him how to fix it ?

I never would have guessed Olson would fall into an abyss

Almost unwatchable. I won’t defend Snit but y’all need to lay off AA or meet me at the nearest Sonic. Best GM in the business by far.

Season was capped when Strider and Acuna went down. Max, Albies, Harris, etc. have all lost material time due to injury. And it isn’t AA’s fault that Riley, Olson, Murphy, Arcia, etc. all suddenly forgot how to play baseball at the same time.

Get some guys back from injury and get hot over the last 6 weeks of the season and who knows, might be able to upset the Phillies in RD2 of the playoffs. Or might just limp to the end and get ready for next year.

I see we are finding new ways to lose. Going from up 6 to down 1 in 0.5 innings…impressive.

Have enough talent to win. Just Snit is bang average and needs a huge talent advantage for success.

Only won the World Series because the players out-hit his pitching management and mistakes.

With a decent manager Braves would have won 2 or 3 World Series and would be on the tear of ages because the talent they have warrants that but people don't see it that way because the management ain't that great.

I know I know you're not allowed to criticize the great Snit. Go ahead and downvote me lol

No denying that

Everyone else in the division is currently arse aswell. Point is, the Braves 100% SHOULD NOT BE IN THE 3RD WC SPOT. We are seriously jeopardizing our chances if we continue to piss our pants. Yikes. We better win the 3 game series against the Angels, we already lost in sad fashion to the Rockies, we don't need that again

Just my two cents

Another Heartbreaker last night.

It's fricking retarded to bring in the Rookie to face Castellanos, a free swinger, with the game on the line and Philly with all the momentum.
Should've been Jimenez or Chavez. Needed a veteran there. Not a rookie. Also, Morton needs to move to the bullpen in the playoffs. Sale, Fried, Lopez, Schwellenbach is enough starting pitching in a 3 or 5 or 7 game series. Morton has been decent for 1-4 innings this season. The Phillies had runners all over the bases every inning. Only a matter of time before they were going to break through. Holmes should've been on the bump at the beginning of inning 6.
There are very few pitchers that can come in and not be affected by inherited runners. Idk why, but it's a mental thing.

Olson has been on a tear. No way that missile he hit over the batter's eye only went 450! Too bad our mngr doesn't know his arse from a donut when it comes to bullpen mngt. Ozuna isn't getting nearly the MVP shoutout that he should. Dude has a legit chance of winning the triple crown and NOT win MVP?? Seriously??

I'm hoping the Braves don't pack it in and give up on this series in Philly. The next three are winnable. But they'll have to beat Philly's 3 best pitchers. Win the next three and they're 3 games behind Philly and they'll definitely feel the pressure. The remaining schedule isn't the roughest I've seen, but WTF are we doing scheduling 4 with the Dodgers in Sept??? FFS. Hopefully L.A won't NEED to win these games to lock up their playoff berth and we can take 3/4 at home.

If the Braves can get within 3 of Philly this weekend and at least split the 4 game series with L.A., I like their chances at winning the division. Philly has 7 games left with the Mets who'll be fighting for a playoff spot, and the Braves have 3 with the Mets at home. Best case scenario, the Mets go on an absolute tear in Sept ( lose 3 to ATL), Braves have their best W/L month of the season and Philly is on the outside looking in in Oct. Worst case scenario, Philly buries us this weekend and we go in a tailspin and the Mets take our playoff spot.

I personally prefer the former.

Edit: WTF are the Phillies wearing tonight? Those unis are a fricking disaster.

Lost it when they didn't bring in a LH pitcher to face Harper in the 6th.

His expected BA was sky high facing Swelly a third time.

Snit gonna snit

The Braves have almost pissed away the window to win multiple titles with the talent they have accumulated. Typical. 2025 here we come.

How can someone be in baseball 50 years, rise through the ranks of the minor league and big league systems as a player, coach. and manager without learning how to manage the bullpen??

It absolutely floors me.
