We're about to find out what our basketball NIL program is made of.
I have full belief in our coach and the program he’s building.

We just went to final four with like 2nd lowest returning minutes and a completely new staff. We will be just fine.

Didn't know Clowney was starting for the Nets. Thought it was surprising when he declared. Guess he knew what he was doing.

Yep. Best season in program history. Nothing at all to be concerned about. Oats has won 8 tournament games in his first 5 seasons. If you told me before we hired him that he'd win 8 tournament games in his first 10 seasons I'd have taken it no questions asked.

His last two games he’s put up big numbers. And, Keon Ellis is starting right now for the Kings.
It’s great to see these guys get in the league and get legit minutes.

When is the last day to pull your name out of the draft?

Good. Let Jarin Stevenson's parents know. That was his comp and it was Clowney's draft stock that attracted JS to bama.
I guess it is likely that JS will test the draft waters too just to see the evaluation. He is probably not ready but he should be a beast after next year. They like him going to the basket on that high screen and roll, and he is dangerous from the corner. With a little more development he will be a tough matchup for opposing teams. I think his ceiling is Rasheed Wallace.

Isn’t he too young to draft? He was supposed to be a HS senior this year.

Primo got drafted after one year and he was a reclassify guy.

So which guys should we target from Kentucky?

Stevenson is eligible for the draft because he turns 19 in October.

The reclassifications of Guard and Big man are not the same.
Guards can be overcome with basketball skills even if physical strength is not complete. However, Big man cannot participate in offense or defense in college basketball unless their body weight and strength are fully prepared. Big man must continue to fight tough with the opposing team's big man from the perimeter to the post.
Stevenson is not physically ready to play in the NBA yet.

Man, I trust Oats. But still nervous that he would take the Kentucky job. That $18million is a big number to everyone, except them. Especially if Arky saves them the $33million to fire Cal.
I'm sure we would match any salary offer, and he's proven he can win here and we've proven we will give him all of his flowers as a fan base. There is literally no pressure here if he loses in the first round like Cal did. But UK is still UK. There are 4 CBB jobs that sit above the rest, imo. UNC, UK, Kansas, and UCLA.
Again, I trust Oats. I also trust Byrne. So I'm probably worried for no reason.

He has been on record he likes Alabama because he doesn’t have to deal with all these different boosters because Saban(now Debeor) is doing all that. At UK he would be the guy having to deal with the boosters

Was literally the first thing I thought about when that was announced.
I'll be nervous for you if you're not going to be.
