Think Stevenson’s % was actually respectable coming into the game, and he should be in HS. He’s not as bad as Grant on 3s.
It might be respectable but you can’t have half your 3-point attempts coming from the 4 spot.

Oh man and now we have to fly (gasp) and play again in two days. Guess we have an excuse if Eastern Kentucky beats us.

This pre sec stretch has been a baptism of fire for a new group of players and coaches. Saban preaches that each team must establish its own identity and can’t live on the reputation and accomplishments of teams before. I still think this team will be a force in the sec. They will learn from these negative experiences and be better down the stretch. They will battle. RTR

We are missing Charlie Henry. Our defensive schemes have not been good

I hear you, but Stevenson is 36% even after tonight’s 0-5. Shooting 3s is the one thing he has done well. Grants now at 26%…which is a PPP of 0.78. That will lose you a lot of games if you take 0.78 on 15 possessions.

I thought the defensive schemes were better today and I also think we played good defense until Pringle fouled out.

They shot 11 more free throws than us and won by 13, despite actually fouling more than we did imho.
Both teams took 65 shots. We took 40 3s and 25 2s. They took 17 3s and 48 2s. You can’t expect to win the FT battle with those splits.

Poor effort from the top down. You got a man that is making some shots (Sam Walters) and instead of getting him the ball Setting some screens and letting him take some of the shots that everyone else is bricking. you let them keep bricking. That's on Nate Oats.

The women's team could have shot better. Like the Unofficial Coaches say in football. we need a scholarship check.

I made a post some time back saying that the lack of a true point guard would come back to haunt us. and it did tonight. Mark Sears ain't a point guard. Grant Nelson damn sure isn't Our guards will turn it over if you pressure them and that's a fact.

I am upset because with any kind of a reasonable shooting night we could have beaten this team. I give up on getting an even break from the officials they are going to let goons park in the paint and blow the whistle on our bigs if they breathe on them. Wague fouled out and I don't know what he could have done their guy just put the ball under his arm and attacked, Wague gave ground but it wasn't good enough, I suppose he should have turned around and blocked for him.

Maybe next year if we are gonna play 3 top 5 out of conference teams in a row in 10 days maybe we can have one or two in Alabama. What a crazy thought.

Creighton isn’t that good. Their win over us is sandwiched between losses to UNLV and Villanova. No excuse to lose that game, especially without their center for a half.

Demoralizing. Just demoralizing.

Awful turnovers and the inability to defend without fouling cost us. Just can’t make the winning plays.

We have great shooters but we settle way too much on the 3 this year. Gotta figure out a way to get to the damn basket.

I still think we’re a solid team but we have to have growth. Cant regress and drop conf games that we should win coming up.

Caleb Love and Zach Edey are somehow still playing college ball but we couldn’t keep Bediako from going pro. Killed us. Why tf did he go pro?

Too many guys struggling to handle the ball against pressure…even non pressure. Griffen still struggles to dribble. Nelson has been awful with his handle. Stevenson is getting worse and worse.

On to the next one. Brutal 3 game stretch. Hate it for them. They battled.

It's time to tell some of these guys to quit firing away and get the ball into the hands of the shooters. Nelson is not a shooter nor is he a point guard. Ryan Griffin is not a shooter.

Aaron Estrada can make them if he is open and takes shots from a reasonable distance under control. Mark Sears MUST shoot well for this team to win and Sam Walters makes too many to sit.

Guys, if you’re going to make a definitive criticism, try to make sure it’s actually true.

Griffin is 37.5% from 3s this year which is good enough for 1.125 PPP. Thats considered good shooting in every level of basketball. Saying Griffin “is not a shooter” is a terrible take.

Alabama has lost to every good team they have played. I stated yesterday that they had zero percent chance to win the game.

Going to be a long season unless the other SEC schools suck.

Ryan Griffin should be on the BENCH. He plays hard but a starter he is not. Takes too many bad shots, turns it over too much and does what they all do, fouls too much.

If he WERE a shooter,WHERE is the production??

The problem with this team and let's face it, is we have a team full of role players and no studs.

Good news is that there is a lot of bad sec teams this year.

Bad news even when we beat them it isn't going to help much since we have zero good wins.

Plus we could easily drop some to bad teams with one of the worst defenses in the country

Yeah, Alabama has 5 good losses but 0 good wins. When you don’t play defense well, you’re a risk of losing to bad conference opponents especially on the road where they will get the 50/50 calls.

Alabama’s path to the NCAAT is narrow now that they failed to win a single big game in OOC. It isn’t impossible but I think they’re in a bigger bind than some admit.
