This is wild. I’m seeing projections that UGA and LSU could sneak into the NIT. One projection showed us playing Seton Hall. I’ll take that.

Way I understand it we will be hosting no matter what as the second SEC auto bid. Could be wrong though

Well… NCST did it. I think that pretty much locks us in the NIT… and at home! I’ll take it!

Assuming it happens, I will take a slow, steady build over a flash in the pan. If our brand can be elevated like Auburn and Tennessee has done, we will reap the rewards of recruiting and fan support.

With the exception the Auburn game, we played everybody really tough this year. The young players definitely improved throughout the year while the veterans seem to decline for some reason. It would be nice to win a game or two in the NIT in hopes to retain and attract new players next year. We may have been awarded a second chance, and we need to take advantage of it.

I'm on record at the beginning of the season as saying this season would be a success if this team could get a first-round win in the NIT.

We have a shot, especially if it’s at home. Honestly, the projected field does not look overwhelming. If we play like we did during non-conference this year we can play with any of these teams.

I'm excited about this. I'm not going to get my hopes up since that always backfires with UGA basketball but hell, getting an extra game in a postseason format is never a bad thing. Plus we owe them big time for 2008. I know they were obviously much better than us but I remember we hung tough as hell with them before I think the refs started turning on us in the 2nd half. Granted my memory might be fuzzy on that.
I shake my head when I see some "fans" (word used very loosely here) saying we should have declined the bid. I honestly can't even fathom how it's possible to be so off base on something.
