I think it’s becoming more prevalent because so many offenses go on a clap now.

quote:Correct, and the rule now states that if the offense uses a clap count, nobody and ANY time on defense can clap. If you think about it you'll understand the fairness of the rule. Imagine the defense yelling snap counts while the offense is trying to run a play.
