Hess has to be better if he’s going to be our Friday starter.
He hasn’t been the same since he got drilled in the back a few weeks ago.

There’s a very fine line with Moza because he throws so many breaking pitches. He’s 94 with the fastball, but uses it so little that hitters can just sit on the deuce….so it better be a really sharp biting deuce.

Pitching crumbled late in both games. Just knew Bama was going to take the second game yesterday. Avoid the sweep today and even the conference record as the Tide heads back home for a series with South Carolina (Thurs-Sat).

Alabama baseball fell in both games of a doubleheader with Georgia on Saturday at Foley Field. The ninth-ranked Crimson Tide is now 18-5 overall and 2-3 in Southeastern Conference play for the season.
Alabama and Georgia were tied at 5-5 from the fourth inning on before a grand slam in the ninth walked it off for the Bulldogs in game one. The two teams were tied at 3-3 after three innings in game two before UA moved ahead with one run in the seventh. UGA then answered with a two-run bottom of the seventh and one in the eighth to make it a two-run ballgame. The extra run would prove crucial as the Tide was able to cross one in the ninth but could get no closer for the 6-5 final.

"This was two college baseball games that were just really good battles. At the end of the day, when you come on the road you really have to go take it from the other team. We did some good things; we just weren't quite consistent enough. I also have to do a better job on my end of putting our guys in the right spot to win. The fight was there. We played hard. We did some really good things, but we didn't quite finish today and couldn't take it from (Georgia) at their place."
