How do people actually believe A&M would fire Jimbo this year? It's not possible. They are stuck with him for two more years at a minimum.

Both Texas and A&M have boosters with way too much money.. and neither one of them likes to lose to the other one.

This past weekend rattled their cages big time, especially with Texas joining the conference next year. The optics they had going for them have now evaporated.. and unless Jimbo starts winning a lot.. quickly.. they will move on if they can line up someone they want. (Urban, Deion, etc)

The buyout isn’t as bad as it seems.

$20 million within 60’days
then $7 million a year or whatever it is for the rest of the contract, offset by any money he makes at the next stop
(they have to pay this money either way)

The true cost of the buyout is simply the new coaches salary. If they went with a younger guy and gave him incentives, it wouldn’t be that expensive unless they won, then it would be worth it.

They view the next couple of years as crucial to the program.. which is why they bought the class last year, and they appear to be doing it again this year.

The reality is this.
Urban would have this same roster in the playoff next year. Can Jimbo do that? That’s the question that has to be answered.

Personally, I just think he needs a new DC.

Way back in 2020/2021. I don't remember but I am not going to go back to look for it. You can do it if you want to.

There is no doubt that Elko's departure and _urkin's arrival coincided with A&M falling completely off the cliff however even if you look at 2021 with Elko they did beat Alabama and tip of the cap there they still managed to lose 4 games to lower ranked teams the rest of the season. Their only really impressive game after Alabama was Auburn the rest of it was shyte.

Moral of the story: A good DC would help but I don't think that alone would prop Bilbo up he would need a really good DC and a generational talent at QB ala 2013 FSU or 2005 Texas.

A&M has money but they're not going to just pay Jimbo 70+ million to not coach on top of another new guaranteed 100 million dollar contract. The optics alone would be terrible.

Completely agree. $76ish million…he’d be the Jack Welch of college football. I don’t see leadership approving that. He’s got us by the short and curlies.

Wow, that must have traumatized you to be carrying that around for so long.

Shame on whoever supposedly posted that. Bless your heart.

The Aggies deserve everything it gets. Besides a couple of years, Jimbo has been a bust and it's just repeating itself. When he was at FSU, one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country, he drove them right into ground.

He brings in the No. 1 recruiting class in the country last year and goes 5-7 and most of the recruits leave the program. He's never been a great coach and he never will, but he does have one heck of an agent!

A&M should bet $20M on Jimbo, then fire him. There's the buyout. Problem solved.

We aren’t that lucky. It’s time for a good Aggie coaching search. Can y’all go ahead and lost the former LSU coaches we should start researching? Thanks.

My God, that buyout. And what coach wants to join that Aggie Fail rotation? It's an 80 year freakin' graveyard for coaches. You hate to see it.

We loved what we thought was confidence. But every week we are realizing he’s a car salesman who has no idea how to handle the QB situation.

Last week he said he didn’t care what fans thought. This week he has doubled down on the QB he wants to date his daughter.

Fans have booed his decisions two weeks in a row multiple times. That’s against South Dakota and Middle Tennessee.

If he doesn’t make the QB move and we lose against kState because of a QB mistake you are going to watch a powder keg go off.

Jimbo's contract has no offset clause.

Even The Bear lost 4 of every 10 of his games in your arid wasteland of a community.
