He was trying to be. The second year felt like his own personal vindictive tour for trying to publicly embarrass his family with all those false accusations from the boosters. That was just wrong and you know it.

But when high school coaches tell you they have never seen the guy in person you know he was never going to keep up, nor was he trying to.

Auburn investigated Harsin for allegations made in exit interviews (by Derek Mason, notably). That shouldn’t have been made public, but was, because Harsin was sucking arse and somebody wanted his feet held to the fire.

The Clesi stuff was internet rumor run amok, given legs by the legitimate investigation noted above. Auburn’s mistake was that investigation being public, but it is what it is.

Meh, he sucked before that.
