You dodged the question by claiming it's a different topic.

It is a different topic. That's why the headlines the next day were about Bama injuries, not the lack of backups.

ou assert that you don't need quality backups if your starters stay healthy. I assert that quality backups are needed in case your starters go down

"if" is the key word there.

So, I ask my straightforward question again-- how did Alabama's depth, or lack of it, work out for them at the national championship game against Georgia??

Bama didn't have more Metchies/Williams if that's what you're wanting. That's why they beat Georgia easily the first game and lost the 2nd...because of having the misfortune of those players going down.

So, everybody making excuses for Alabama? Just like you.

excuses (third person present)

attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify:

Alabama fans.

"Colt McCoy"!-Texas fans
"We would have won anyway!"-Alabama fans

"Injuries made us lose!"-Alabama fans
"What about Colt McCoy?"-Texas fans
"That's totally different!"-Alabama fans
