Lots of teams have lost multiple key players, not just Bama. This even includes UGA, though you do some serious mental gymnastics to deny that reality.
None was the answer you were looking for.

Pure silliness. The 2021 UGA O would have been badass with him and Pickens throwing the ball around at 100%.
Where is he now?

Irrelevant question that you already know the answer to.
We are talking about what he did with Pickens in 2020, and the justified hype for 2021 that came with it.

Silly point as injuries affect more than just a single position, but QB is the most important position on the field, not WR.
Be thankful Bama didn't lose their qb1 in 2021. Then imagine if they also lost their WR1 to go along with it.
Bama would have been screwed.
You should have had better depth to replace your key guys like UGA did when we lost our key guys.
Back in 2017/18, Bama had that depth, but UGA didnt. Flash forward to 2021, and the situations have reversed.

I would be thankful to lose a QB1 if it helped the team. You're back on the JT Daniels magnificence thing even after he had to transfer to lowly Rice. That's humorously desperate.

You might be the only person who claims losing a Qb1 + Wr1 is not a big deal, perhaps even great for UGA, but losing Wr1 + Wr2 is a huge deal, debilitating for a team that had the most loaded roster in CFB. This absurd contradiction further proves your crippling hypocrisy.
The only thing that is relevant is how good he did at a place like UGA with a guy like Pickens to throw to, which was really good as proven by the facts you want to ignore. What he did elsewhere without Pickens matters not, and your insistence otherwise is evidence of the desperation you speak of.

That's a different topic than having the starters not go down.
I knew you would dodge the question. You won't answer because you know lack of depth cost Alabama the championship game. Admit it. Failure to have quality backups when your starters went down cost Alabama the championship.
How did it work out for you? 33-18. That's how.

ou're bragging about depth when it was injury fortune/misfortune that determined the game.
Quality depth helps overcome injury misfortune.
When the wheels fell off of Alabama, they didn't have fresh wheels to replace them.
Simple concept. I'm sorry you can't grasp it.

The biggest difference between the 2021 SECCG and the NCC was the ability to get pressure on Young. Our defensive scheme was changed and it helped.
Georgia wasn't built to cover Metchie/Williams. You're bragging about depth when it was injury fortune/misfortune that determined the game.
But to the point of depth: it was said that in 2017/2018, you had depth at QB that changed the outcome for Bama. Taking out the struggling starting QBs was what “turned the tide” because your backups shined in the spotlight in those games against UGA. That simply wasn’t the case against us in ‘21. Your 5*-studded team couldn’t pull out a victory against us when called to action, in spite of having a Heisman winner at QB.
If “next man up” is the expectation in college football broadly, how much more so is it for a team that pulls in the best recruiting class most years in recent history?

And you do yours. I'm enjoying our thing. How about you?
It has been a hell of a 15 year run for Alabama. The most disappointing seasons were 10-3 in 2010 and 11-2 last year. And in my 45 years on earth, Alabama has won 9 national championships in football. I think that is good. It seems good. I am still enjoying it. I think Alabama will be good this year. I get the feeling that Saban is in an extra pissy and grouchy mood this year. And a pissed off Saban is a motivated Saban. The new, softer version of Saban we saw the last few years seems to have been replaced by the old shite through a tin horn Saban. The other years when “they” announced that Alabama football was dead and Saban was washed up resulted in national championships. The best predictor of future performance is past performance. I am excited to see what this year has in store.

I didn't dodge the question. It is a different topic. Bama had starters that were the best players. When you lose one you replace them with a lesser player and the other team gains an advantage.

Yep, doesn't matter how many starters you lose to injury you just throw backups out there and it won't matter. The backups should be able to beat the other team's starters just on heart. You see the absurdity?

Williams was on pace to exceed his SECCG numbers prior to going down. Seems the scheme got better when the starting receivers went out.

I don't want to hear excuses. We lost. We Bama fans have been ridiculing Texas about "If Colt hadn't gotten hurt!" for 13 years. I don't wanna hear about our WRs getting hurt now. Georgia won.

You know what's embarassing? Your inability to man up and admit Alabama straight up lost. By two touchdowns.
33-18.
Be a man. Stop wrapping yourself in your security blanket of excuses.
No more, "Waaa, they hurt us." "Waaa, the referees were mean to us." "Waaa, it's not fair."
Grow a pair. Stop acting like a child that just had it's lunch snatched by the school bully. Admit that Georgia fought hard and deserved the win.
Because they do deserve it.

Bravo to you, sir. Most of the Alabama fans I've encountered share your outlook.
Good luck to Alabama this season. It should be exciting.

You dodged the question by claiming it's a different topic. It's a straightforward question.
You assert that you don't need quality backups if your starters stay healthy. I assert that quality backups are needed in case your starters go down, something that is inevitible during the course of a college football season.
So, I ask my straightforward question again-- how did Alabama's depth, or lack of it, work out for them at the national championship game against Georgia??
The answer is that it didn't work out well. Let's see if you can provide that answer.
