I hear they recently planted a few trees in College Station.
The irony.

College Station is a true college town. Town would not exist without the university and vice versa. Hardly any crime. Some traffic especially during rush hour and on game days. Very hilly and green. Campus is huge including its own golf course. Campus is very shady with lots of big oak trees and lots of pretty coeds. It was considered the most exciting city in Texas a few years ago.
Most Exciting Cities in Texas
Love all of the LoSerU posters commenting on a town they have never seen. It is really obvious by your comments. The worst parts of College Station are still nicer than the best parts of Baton Rouge and it is not even close.

All jokes aside, it's a good, not great college town (I say this understanding that Austin is not a "college town" whatsoever)
The bonfire memorial and war memorial in whichever library are very very cool. One of the libraries or student union centers disallows wearing a hat inside as part of the memorial, which I think is a neat tradition.
The campus architecture is pretty blah and to be honest the night life is also quite bland. Gameday atmosphere is cool because it's such an enormous collection of students, alumni, and fanbase, but that is literally the ONLY thing going on at College Station all year.
The people: well... whatever you've heard in terms of cult following, multiply it by 10. They're bought in, and truth be told it can get tiresome and almost to the point of creepy. They have this insane (and unreciprocated) obsession with Texas, and that's always kind of been their identity. It makes it extremely uncomfortable to be around them sometimes, at least if you're a longhorn.

It's Provincetown, with an E. Texas flavor.
Sound weird?
Yup...

It's like a scoop of dusty vanilla ice cream wearing a rainbow cowboy hat.

I’ve heard that because of the unusual terrain in CS, the Bruce Willis movie Armageddon was filmed there.

The restaurants are average in CS. The stadium is impressive but the campus is gross. The best thing you can say about CS is that it isn't Lubbock.

If you’re a college kid, it’s a very chill place to spend 4 years. Everyone is basically your age.
If you’re older, I recommend stopping by the Ptarmigan Club. It’s a dive in Bryan, but they invented the flaming Dr. Pepper. Must try.

Most people commenting on this forum have likely never been to College Station. I enjoyed visiting the school.
The campus itself is absent any character at all, it is just boring.
Blue Bell shows nice on TV, but it was not impressive at all in person.

Boring as frick.
If people were food, College Station would be plain toast.
