Agree 100%, those games are always really close and always good no matter the record. Hopefully we can get that game back when we go to 9 conference games

One of the more exciting series of the modern sec. Will be really weird to not play auburn every year.

It’s just one year . We will still play y’all on rotation or randomly . However they decide starting 2025 even if we do the one permanent format

No LSU and no State.

Auburn-MSU has 95 all-time meetings, including every season since 1955.

Auburn-LSU has been an extremely entertaining rivalry since the early ‘90s. Since 1992 expansion, it ranks as the conferences’ #6 annual rivalry based on combined team winning percentage (behind UGA-UF, AL-LSU, UF-LSU, AL-AU, and UGA-AU)…. Which means Auburn-LSU is the biggest recent rivalry to get cancelled.

Considering AU-Tennessee was the costliest SEC rivalry lost with ‘92 expansion… AU-Florida was the costliest SEC rivalry lost with the new format of 2004… it’s only fitting Auburn-LSU is the most costly rivalry to go by the wayside of 2024 expansion.

Explain? Even Haskins at Auburn beat LSU.

The first LSU game I remember attending as a kid was the 2001 Auburn game. I’ll never forget the Auburn kicker practicing FGs during halftime and the band shoving him out of the way.

By far the most underrated rivalry in the SEC. Hating Alabama is the only thing agreed upon in the Tiger Bowl.

Auburn-LSU in the Saban/Miles vs. Tuberville years was awesome. Big hits, close games, great defense, top ten teams, I seem to remember a kicker fighting the band?

Hate it that we are no longer playing LSU every year. It was a fun and very memorable series.

Over the years we have lost GT (then the second-oldest rivalry), UT and UF. GT faded out and LSU helped make up for losing UT and UF.

I hope ESPN comes off some $$$ and we go to nine in 2025, with bama and UGA as our permanents.

That 2004 game was one of the most physical I’ve ever seen.

1996-2011 LSU/Auburn was absolute insanity

Barn burner
Cigar game
Tuba player vs Auburn kicker
The extra point game
AU misses a million FGs in 05
No Pass interference game
1 second left
Cam runs wild
LSU's revenge in 11

Those games have names that will live forever.
Interception game
Earthquake game
Magic back
Barn burner
That’s just in 8 years.

The 2019 LSU/Auburn game felt like the only real test LSU got that season with the way Derrick Brown disrupted the front and allowed us to play a 3 man front dropping everyone else into coverage.

would trade any of our opponents outside of Bama/UGA to play LSU. Would rather play the traditional games than get an easy schedule

Don’t listen to him. When I was in school the best games were Auburn and Florida. Those are the games I loved to win.

Sure gonna miss that Sat morning 6:30 am tee time on #1 at Santa Maria before the clubhouse opens. Nothing like being half arse drunk from Friday night and hitting that first drive before the sun comes up while everyone behind you is yelling "Tiger Bait"!
Gonna miss the hell out of Red Stick!
