I agree that Vitello toned it down quite a bit this year, whether that's because the team was worse or because he has actually changed remains to be seen.

Vitello and the team behaved were very classy towards Scott Berry at the end of the game last night and celebrated without making arses of themselves.

Also, I'm not sure why Tennessee fans still need to pretend that Vitello rejected LSU when he was never even contacted in regards to the job.

I believe it was because he had to work harder this year as a coach rather than a motivator. The last couple of years he knew what he had in terms of a team and was just pushing them to just play and enjoy it. Whereas this year he didn’t know the team. He knew they were talented but didn’t just know how to win with them. He had to find what what worked and didn’t with them. He generally runs the program like a pro team with self accountability because the last 3 years he got comfortable and he couldn’t do it this year.
