Did you have trouble spelling Schlossnagle?
Posted on 3/8/23 at 1:15 pm to Farmer1906
No, I just fricked up the copy paste. I would have spelled it wrong though without googling it.

Lemonis has 2 CWS appearances if you count the championship year as an appearance. He went to Omaha back to back

Van Horn and Schloss are easily ahead of Lemonis and Bianco.

Not ahead of Bianco. OP needs to add ncaa invites as an accomplishments. And Bianco will pass Skip in wins this year.

At a mid major that’s a banner-worthy accomplishment. In the SEC it’s expected

Just giving you shite. Looks pretty fair to me when you weigh titles heavily.

Skip was a head coach for only 16 years. A lot of coaches have more career wins than he does. It’s not a high bar nor should it be used as some barometer of a coach’s achievements.

Maybe he passes in wins, but titles matter

Van Horn and Schloss are easily ahead of Lemonis and Bianco.

I took the list of accomplishments from their wiki pages, included SEC only for everyone but Schlossnagle since his Big 12 accomplishments are well regarded, and then weighed CWS championships heavily.
I think there are a few places to juggle and I can update appearances where the wiki info was wrong if you point it out.

The top 7 coaches on that list are really strong.

I understand this argument but it’s hard for me to unequivocally say 1 title and 2 CWS appearances trumps 9 CWS appearances. So one dropped pop fly is the sole difference in which coach is better?

9 CWS appearances and 0 titles
Van Horn is the #1 choke artist in the SEC after Bianco finally won the CWS

That's a fair argument. Are a few amazing years better than a dozen really really good years? Maybe not.

Solid rankings. Should add 2 CWS Runner-Up to Corbin.

The fact that Arkansas even made it to that championship game was good coaching. They were supposed to get clobbered in that series yet were an easy catch away from winning it all. VanHorn didn’t miss that catch, my bet is he would have made the catch even if he had to catch it with his teeth.
It was unfortunate/ agonizing, but an outstanding coaching job to get to that position and all the other CWS visits.
