Jalen Carter is subject of arrest warrant in Athens after being implicated by police for racing in the crash that took the life of former teammate, and UGA staffer.

Report also said LeCroy’s BAC was .197

There’s about to be a lot of fallout from this.

I'm worried it's going to end up being that we hid details...

Why the frick are our players racing cars? That goes double for JDJ, who apparently is enough of a moron to race cars after what happened to his teammate.

Everybody was adults here and were voluntarily a part of what happened, people died, thats permanent.

Being a douche about it in the media doesnt fix anything.

Best for all parties is to accept that young people do dumb things but dont dishonour the balance of their accomplishments.

Well damn, there’s a lot to unpack there and not a word of it is good. 104 on Barnett Shoals with a BAC of .197 is stupid as hell- that’s horribly reckless endangerment of so many innocent lives. Then Jalen racing and contributing to the accident, fleeing, then lying to the cops.. yikes.

JDJ’s charges stem from an incident that happened on Jan. 10

I can understand the racing. That stretch of road is four lanes with a turn lane and almost always empty at night. I've done stupid shite like that when I was kid as I'm sure plenty of others on here have as well.

But driving with a .2 BAC and racing at the same time is fricking stupid. I don't like to talk ill of the dead, but WTF?

I am curious about JDJ because apparently officers responding to the Willock crash were asking about him and Mondon.

Now, that could just be because they knew JDJ and Mondon liked to race and they were wondering if they were involved, but it makes you wonder.

That's the thing about alcohol.
It impairs decision making.

I was hoping that the players were smart enough to DD.
Unfortunately, that is a lesson that a new crop of kids seem to learn the hard way continuously.

Young college kids coming into hundreds of thousands of dollars overnight with NIL deals is a recipe for disaster.

Racing is so fricking stupid. License should be permanently revoked for anyone caught doing it.

In any case, I think reckless driving should be viewed as a team dismissal level offense for the foreseeable future.

Both those charges against Jalen are misdemeanors in Georgia

Her IG just went private. But there were some very nasty things being posted to it beforehand I’m guessing many people knew and apparently she had something going on with a kid we recruited that ended up at FSU. Some players responded. If we end up playing them in playoffs, it will be nasty.

Terrible idea, Kirby is Smart enough to look at each transgression and judge it on its own merit. Automatic anything is just stupid.

I was thinking initially that the staffer was the DD being “part of the program” and keeping players out of trouble. Why are staffers driving players around with a BAC almost twice the legal limit?
