Alabama - Football 137 weeks
Basketball 3 weeks
Auburn - Football 9 weeks
Basketball 1 week
Florida - Football 41 weeks
Basketball 14 weeks
Tenn - Football 18 weeks
Basketball 5 weeks
Arkansas and Missouri have achieved it also, but not both since joining the SEC.
Every program but Vandy has achieved a number one ranking in one of the 2 sports at some time in their history.
No data on baseball #1’s, but Vandy, Ole Miss, MS State, USC, GA, and LSU have won baseball NCs. I don’t follow, but do know TN was ranked #1 last year.
Go SEC!

Final 4 is a better measure

Still gotta give kudos to Florida for winning the title in both in the same calendar year. Pretty freaking amazing.

Natties in football and Final Fours in basketball are the true measure. For Missouri, 0 and 0.

Yeah, a back to back in basketball with a football championship in the middle. Then won it again in Football a couple of years later.

National championships in football and basketball are the true measure. You Cajuns can keep your Miss Congeniality trophies. I know they mean so much.

Did you by chance look at Sewanee an Tulane?
Pre WW II - the private schools could compete at the highest level
(no polls at the time tho you can look to)
Post WW II - the state schools with $$$ and bodies took control
Not only was Vanderbilt football good early on, but they were solid in basketball as well. Memorial was the biggest venue in the SEC (Charter schools) till UK built their Memorial later on. The one is still big but compared to the time it was built it was really big. I am old enough to remember the old CheckerDome in STL thinking it was big but looking back it would not be today.

USC isn't in the SEC; however, South Carolina, SCar, and Carolina is.
