Maybe. But I always think of the “gravy” analogy where you’ve done what you need tk do and everything after that is “gravy”.
Adding go5 programs is not “doing what you need to do”.

There's no question the SEC and Big 10 are 1-2 in whatever order. I see the ACC as a clear #3; you have Clemson and Fla State having made the playoffs. Miami and probably Va Tech both carry enough name-value, if they can revive, they're candidates too.
Big 12 gives you, what- a bunch of cinderella-type teams? They COULD make it, but like this year, you have to have things fall right.
