Bunch of pussies in those threads. They became real accustomed to Auburn’s poor recruiting under Bryan Harsin, and towards the end of Gus Malzahn’s tenure.

Auburn is a sleeping giant in recruiting. Hugh Freeze is scaring the shite out of them.

From my niece who is an Alabama graduate and is married to an ex NFL QB. (he even admits that he never played a meaningful down in the NFL) but he did manage to stay in the league for 5 years so I guess that's something. But anyway, she was invited by a friend of hers to a dinner last week. She thought that they were going to a nice restaurant or something but they went to this huge house in Mt Brook... Valet parking, the whole 9... When it started they introduced the guest speaker which was none other than the great coach Hugh Freeze. To shorten the story he was basically begging the people there to donate money and immediately because he was due to be at a recruits house at 7 the next night and was going to offer the recruit a "huge signing bonus" if he flipped to the barn. She talked to him for a while but couldn't find out who the recruit was. She did say that it was an in state recruit. But she said that those people are in their own little world and have no grasp on reality! And she found out that apparently they do this quite often. She is trying to get more info on this, but I found this extremely intriguing. Anyone else ever heard of anything like this?

May or may not be true, it's a bama fan telling the story

quote:

With NIL, isn’t it illegal for a coach or school to directly offer a player money? Or does no one give a ****?

quote:

This is my point right here... That's why I posted this... To ask this question. Because it looks like my niece was privy to something that she wasn't supposed to see or attend.
They think Hugh is offering direct money to recruits...

quote:

This has been going on for decades and decades…no one wants to believe it.
What is amusing is seeing a pattern of them complaining about other schools, mostly Auburn, are directly paying players and believe they don't, and do not engage in NIL battles for players because they are Bama. LOL

Several posts of course attack him for his past so I won't post those, but there are plenty.

I found this about Saban and is no different than what Hugh is doing when addressing Auburn supporters.

quote:

Alabama became the latest school Thursday to launch a subscription-based name, image and likeness entity in which fans can contribute money that gets paid to players.

Nick Saban was part of the launch advertising campaign for “Yea Alabama,” which was announced the university in a press release.

“Alabama fans, we need you behind us,” Saban said in a promotional video posted to the new “Yea Alabama” Twitter account.

Added Saban in a statement: “I have always believed that our players should have the chance to benefit from their name, image and likeness. Yea Alabama is an exciting new resource to help Crimson Tide student-athletes create value for themselves through a variety of NIL opportunities. The Alabama brand is one of the most powerful in sports, and our partnership with Yea Alabama provides exposure for our athletes that is unmatched in college athletics.”

quote:

Buccee Freeze didn’t mind paying players to sign when it was against the NCAA rules at Ole Miss. you think that sleezy cheater is going to care now when its the wild wild west? He is going to buy every player he can.

quote:

I honestly can say that if I knew the ONLY way Alabama could get Elite talent was to pay them hundreds of thousand of dollars or even over a million to get them to play in a Crimson jersey, I would lose ALL interest in the sport out of shame and embarrassment.
Delusional belief Bama has never had to offer money to recruits to come to Bama.

Bama thread 2 about KJ Bolden

quote:

Bama never got too serious bc of NIL position. But he’s a good player for sure.

quote:

This right here! Just watch. Hugh, at his core, is not a good man. I'm being absolutely sincere in saying this. He's a narcissist. So he has no moral boundaries EXCEPT for the slight concern of actually being EXPOSED/CAUGHT. Thus, it's inevitable that this mindset will permeate throughout the team/players ... Mark it down!

quote:

Was thought to be a barn lean before FSU got to commit from him. But yesterday he was at Auburn and it "went well"

quote:

Auburn is shelling out big money for Hugh's first cycle. This has happened at most major programs in year 1 of the new head coach. It will slow substantially after this year.

quote:

Sounds like Auburn is loading up on the '24 class. I'd much rather spend on the '25 class. Deeper and better at the top
Totally ignoring Hugh is recruiting for 25 no differently

One of my favorites:

quote:

Bolden is another guy like Perry Thompson and Cam Coleman. They'll go anywhere offering them immediate playing time and upfront NIL money without doing anything to earn it. So definitely not Bama

Bama so pure and elite they don't need to play the NIL game. LOL
