Am I to believe Harsin rejected recruiting recruiting Judkins and Citizen?

I could see one, but both?

Harsin is the easy punching bag, but for accuracy's sake we need to keep things truthful.

Harsin did blow it with Citizen on his final in-home visit.

Cadillac is not an elite recruiter.

Both things are true. I don't see how/why you have created an either/or scenario.

Citizen was a big NIL recruit (take a look at where he ultimately signed) and Harsin was anti-NIL for HS recruits (I told you all this a thousand times). So why would anyone be surprised that the ultimate meeting didn't go well? Cadillac did do a really good job of recruiting him (not just him, but Trovon Reed and company as well) but for a recruit looking for NIL guarantees it's up to the head coach to deliver or not. That type of kid isn't going to sign somewhere just because he likes his position coach.

I have no idea about the "he talked politics" angle, but nothing would surprise me with Harsin. It's well known that Harsin, Kiesau, etc. had quite a few comical in-home visits with the more let's say "urban" recruits in his short time here. It's like mixing oil and water.

Anyway, back to Cadillac - I told you guys it would be a joke to promote him to HC. There was a lot of cope going around in assuming that his "tenure" as HC last season would all of a sudden make him an elite recruiter. He just doesn't have that personality.
